Test the Waters
Just downloaded and played a bit while my GF was in the bathroom. Did not have too much time though...
1. This is just fantastic, i wonder how many hours you already put into this?
2. did not play enough to level up and test the spells but the combat system is working like a charm. i think with spells and stances you have a lot of tactical possibilities, it does not even matter that you only control one character
3. i like retro-gfx, but yours are a little bit too retro for my taste. but its all very well blended together. the map reminds me a bit of the old gameboy game "Gargoyles quest" (and your background world too).
Its like RPG castlevania!
your battle system is perfect, but you should not reduce the game to the battle system alone. you could spice up the maps a bit: puzzles with levers and buttons, traps, more npcs to interact with while you fight your way through the necropolis. Do you remember "Demon Crest (gargoyles quest 2)" on SNES? in addition to shopkeepers they had npcs you could play games with (gambling etc.). just some thoughts...
keep up the good work. i want to see the final result.
