Thanks and actually im gearing towards FFL1 and FFL2, but the rpgmaker2k3 DBS makes it all look much more like FFL3

@ShortStar We can change that any time, i just love to see the old logo with a IV instead a I, II or III :-)
Square said that they won't continue SaGa under the old name and they already switched to prefixed names years ago (Romancing Saga). The newest game will be "Emperors SaGa". Also between FFL3 and Romancing Saga, the game system changed a lot - i think it would be nice to have a FFL4 set in between those two. (Like "SaGa 4: The lost ages" instead of far ages...)

Im still working on the water tiles. In fact there is no adequate rip of the SaGa water tiles/corners on the net, so i had to try my own. This is now a mixture of Final Fantasy Adventure and Final Fantasy 3 tiles (with colors reduced to greyscale).
Please note that there are still errors on the water tiles as there are in fact 2 different water tiles (a lighter one and a darker one), I will try to fix that with the next version (you can see the corners are darker while the center is lighter).
Also the corners of the coastland are not perfect yet, you can see that in the tile north-east of the village - will try to fix this also with the next version.
I plan the forests to have intersections just like the mountains in a future version too - this is not 100% SaGa typical but i guess its allowed ;-)

Milestone 1: The Foundation
@mellytan Ah thanks! But i think this is more the picture compression than the buildings themselves. You can also see the compression artefacts in the panorama. It looks MUCH better in the actual game. Thanks for your feedback!
PS: working on it, working on it, working on it (and loving it!)

Yeah that with the houses is right. But i really dont want to use the "standard rooftop houses" from final fantasy.
I guess its not the resolution - its their size right?
does anyone has an idea what kind of houses i could use?

The first major dungeon of the game, a whopping 9 section 70x90 sewer (though all maps are only partially filled as you can see). Screenshot done for my blog entry.
