Time to take my exit.
I think you're making the right decision. The only reason I want to make a game is just to suppress my "turn every story into an RPG" urge. After that I was to just write books and try to become a published author.
I wish you well, and you should keep in contact with other writers around here. They say the more writers you surround yourself with, the better!
I'm becoming more and more convinced to try and get my boyfriend (whom I met on a RM site) to just stop developing games - which he hardly does anymore - and just write our story into a book form together!

Game Page Idea(s)
Hai.
I had the strangest idea... Would it be odd to add "website" on the right side of the game pages (under developers, engine, etc.). There might not be a good reason for doing so, but people do have, and make, websites for their games.

A Sporadic Update
Big Boss mentioned the pixel based movement was never intended to go with XAS. Though I could have miss-heard him. I told him about the problem with tile-based/pixel-based movement as well.
I'm king of thinking that if the whole action battle thing doesn't do as well, we could switch to Tactical-based. He doesn't mind that at all, and that's my favorite (great compromise, right?). Maybe we could even switch to VX ACE (since it has more updated scripts and free resources that are cool).
As for the HUD problem. I have an idea of restricting movement down there so none of the character or enemy sprites get hidden. That shouldn't be difficult I hope! Everything is going to function the same. The hotkey part will look different, but will stay the same. I dunno. o.o
