Hm. This looks nice, though I'm more interested in the artistic/literary direction. What are the themes of this story? Does it build on the themes from OFF, or does it go in a completely different direction? Is it trying to send a message at all, or is it just trying to be a fun ride? Personally I felt that OFF was really jumbled (I believe some reviews have likened it to trying to awkwardly cram three stories into one and I agree) and something that only focuses on one theme/story (such as the purification of the Zones without all the baggage from The Room) would be good. Is that what you plan to do here?

It does build off of OFF themes and then takes a ride in it's own direction. It sends messages, multiple ones. What you take from the game itself is what you get. I do have my own "room" in HOME. The Courtroom is the final location, but don't worry. The Courtroom will not be as jumbled and chaotic as OFF, but will still touch up some rather drastic and impacting themes.

All Pure Zones finished.

I'm so excited for this~ Thanks for all the hard work, Judge & co.! Not sure whether I should wait for once the courtroom update is finished to continue playing or simply play once the Purified Zones are all added in. *-*

HOME (OFF fangame) Review

Fantastic review. I'm so glad Zone 4 impacted you as much as it did. That means my design direction is working as intended.

you mean beta? It's been out of Alpha phase testing since the first month of this year. Right now, my releases have been chapter based. Ending on cliffhangers to keep the next person interested in the next update. I do applaud your integrity in waiting until the game is fully finished.
Nahnahnah I mean alpha, aka full revised version ready for release. ^w^ Any game in process is in its beta stage.

Ooooh, I see, so that's how you do it... ewé
Thank you. I can wait for long periods of time for anything of my interest, and this game will be no exception UwU

Yea. My usual testing goes.
Alpha.
Beta.
Release.
I thank you for looking forward to this project.

that green cube reminds me of the perfectly generic objects from Homestuck.

You don't need to add about the players in it. They'll find out when they play. But that should work fine. Personally I'd either move the part about the game being a fangame (the first line) below the story summary or put a break between them since it's got nothing to do with the story description.

So either:
"HOME is a non-canonical fangame created with the permission of Mortis Ghosts, the creator of OFF - the game from which HOME was inspired.

The story stars off with our puppet, The Judge. The Judge wakens from his slumber to find that the lands around him are crumbling before his very eyes. Not being one to just let things happen, he takes the future of the world into his own paws and, joined by a familiar face from the past, and new faces alike, sets out to save the zones from their destined destruction."

Alright. I'll try the second one. :D

That's not a big issue, though. A lot of games use self-input names. The Judge as a handler for an unnamed player should work well but if you'd prefer, how about this for the first part?

"
You awaken from your slumber to find that the lands around you are crumbling before your very eyes. Not being one to just let things happen, you take the future of the world into your own paws and, joined by a familiar face from the past, set out to save the zones from their destined destruction.

Here's what I have now.
"HOME is a non canonical spinoff/fan game made that takes place in the universe of OFF, Green-lighted and created with Mortis Ghosts permission.

The Judge's name is The Judge. but the puppeteer, the player themselves, insert their own name and are addressed.

OFF breaks the 4th wall often and uses the meta style of naming and such. The puppeteer is very important.

Hm, how about something like:
"
The Judge wakens from his slumber to find that the lands around him are crumbling before his very eyes. Not being one to just let things happen, he takes the future of the world into his own paws and, joined by a familiar face from the past, sets out to save the zones from their destined destruction.

HOME is a non-canonical fangame of OFF, a game created by Mortis Ghosts. With his permission I make use of the elements and systems of the original game and set out to create a more challenging game set in the same world.

It's highly recommended that you play the original game, OFF, before HOME as a lot of the story and lore will only make sense after experiencing the original.
"

This sets up the story well enough that it leaves a bit of mystery but gives the overall summary as to who, what, where and why. It reads a lot better too, and gives the same information without spoiling too much. It also takes away the meta - that is, instead of focussing on what the player is doing to the game or what eventing will occur, it focusses on the character and what they see instead. Hope that helps.

I like it, though I do question if you've played OFF? The meta style of talking is very key to the game, with the characters talking to and addressing the player as a "puppeteer". The Judge and Zacharie both address your entered name in dialogue as they did in OFF.
