SRW2: Yoshi's Archipelago
author=AnimebryanSpoilers man! Geez, can't you see the sprite up above was blacked out? Now I don't even want to fucking play this thing.
2 - What made you change {REDACTED}?
;)
Pokémon RMN Version
That could be something for a sequel. Use your same save file and it unlocks a new region. But yeah, one step at a time.
SRW2: Yoshi's Archipelago
The stars unlock things, so while maybe not required to see all the levels, as gamers we needed to collect them to find out what's in that pipe that requires 10 stars. Ya know? And in order to do that we spent more time than I would have preferred wandering around a few levels.
There is a probably bit of smbx fatigue, although it's been months since I played any. But in all the previous RMNx games they seemed to be full of levels with wacky ideas. The mega man levels, the classic art themed level with the squares, kentona's level with a giant thing chasing you. My fucking off of the wall level ideas haha That is what has always appealed to me since the beginning of the smbx era. Something new and interesting.
But, I might be rushing to judgement here. We only played about a dozen levels? How many is there in total?
If you showed this to someone who never played any smbx games and likes Mario, it would rock their socks off. It's well crafted and well balanced, kudos, but I've always had different tastes. I wouldn't worry too much about what I think, I just wanted to share my thoughts.
Deckiller, sure thing. Ask and ye shall receive.
Are there any levels that have unique concepts beyond basic running and jumping? Any standouts that might appeal to my tastes?
Oh, does anybody have a save file with the entire game unlocked? That might be a good idea, so we can skip levels that don't appeal or hold us up because we can't fucking beat them. I've always hated ghost houses haha.
And one thing I'm remembering, in that underwater level where the sea of ghosts phase in and out. I felt like the change happened too quickly, and there wasn't enough space between the ghosts. That section was fucking hell to get through. There was a period of like a full minute where we didn't make any progress at all. We were just struggling to stay alive and keep our yoshis. It's a good concept but was too constricting.

SRW2: Yoshi's Archipelago
I don't recall any switch, but maybe my friend hit it and I didn't realize. Next time I'll probably just load random levels in the editor heh It's a nice world map but it's a bit tedious having to get all the flowers in order to get stars, in levels that aren't engaging to me.
SRW2: Yoshi's Archipelago
Played with a friend. It's a solid game but kinda bland. None of the levels took any chances or did anything interesting. It was just run and jump standard fare. Granted we didn't get far. The Ghost house on the second world got us stumped and I gave up playing. It seemed like we explored everywhere available but there was nowhere left to go.
Maybe there's better levels later but meh.

Castlevania - Elegy of the Curse
The answer is quite simple. Locate the RPG_RT.ini file, open it up in notepad, and add this line at the bottom.
FullPackageFlag=1
I was getting the error myself, and when I added this to the file, it loaded for me. If it crashes because a file is missing, and that file is from the RTP, any player could add the file and continue playing. But...
Richterw, you should update your download to include that line in the .ini file and also ensure that ALL resources are included in the download. If you used even one thing from the RTP, you need to locate it and place it in your game folder. That will make the game self-contained so people won't need the RTP installed, and won't have any issues even if the RTP is installed.
I played the game a bit. While the maps look really cool, the game mechanics are very rough.
When the character walks left in the opening, he's facing left on the next map. I would have him facing right, minor nitpick.
The song doesn't loop right, there is a pause.
I don't see anything happen when I destroy the candles and I don't understand what is happening when I open a chest and there is a person who doesn't do anything when I smack them around.
No visible health meter kinda sucks. Death snuck up on me. Is there any healing? Are there any items at all?
The attacking is basic and I tend to get hit a lot.
Then I died. I don't have time to play it again right now. Just curious, would you be interested in a little bit of help with the game mechanics? Like showing HP and attacking?

Digging those maps. Downloaded.
Edit: If the game uses all custom resources you should consider making it work without needing to install the RTP.

First download. Let's see how long it takes me to actually play it and give feedback.
Also, it's frowned on to double post like that. You might get yelled at. Reply to each person in the same post for happy times.

This is why I have an Assistant Director. I can easily shift the blame! kentona provided me with a copy of the css for the Befuddled game page. I'll take some time to make some adjustments, to fix the problems and make it my own.
