Chrono Trigger Review
author=Corfaisusauthor=Link_2112Don't worry, I'll review one of your games next. Then you can benefit from my experience. ;)
Another game that doesn't need a review gets one. Great.
Oh, please don't. I won't have anything complete for a long time anyways ;)
Chrono Trigger Review
So I have this idea for a platformer...
RPG's need tons of balance, I'd say that's what takes the most time/experience.
It's a good idea. I don't think Dopple really needs a background story of HOW he absorbs enemies, he just does it. Doppelgangers are known for that so wouldn't he just be a cute lil doppelganger named Dopple?
If you plan on learning GameMaker prepare to throw everything you know about game making(from rpgmaker) out the window. I kept looking for the event, and trying do things with switches and variables...it's just so different. Basically every little command is a kind of conditional branch. No chipsets/tilesets. You import each different piece and it's all in a big list on the side. It makes better action games though, so it would be totally worth learning.
*edit: naw, it's similar to Kirby but there are so many ways to make this idea your own. Kirby wasn't about using different powers to solve puzzles and get further in the levels. You could beat a whole Kirby game without absorbing any powers, for the most part. You dont really have to change anything to distance it from Kirby. I've played tons of Kirby games and I didn't even make that connection on my own.

The 7 Dragons Review
I felt it would be more effective to review this as I went along to give the creator of this game a better idea of exactly where improvements could be made.
How is this supposed to help the creator? It seems like a long-winded "you suck" instead of a helpful "it's not good, and here's why". It's clear that the aspects of this game are bad but I don't see constructive criticism here. If it's there it's well hidden. If someone isn't great at game making this is the wrong way to "help". A comment on the gamepage was sufficient.
Your score for music seems odd. It wasn't good and wasn't bad, just give it a 2.5. It's RTP so of course nothing sticks out.
But hey! At least people are reviewing stuff..........why didn't you review something that actually needs it instead of an easy target for insults? It's easy to see just by looking at the gamepage that this isn't a gem. It just seems like this review was written for the wrong reason. btw, if you bothered to check out his other games you can see that at least his mapping is better than this.
YDS really wants a headset to make better sounding LT videos.
haha
I dunno what's worse, the ones giving the one-liners or the one's calling them out on it to bring focus to it. The only thing that is certain is that it happens every time xD
About the LT videos, I would say the sync issue is more important than the sound quality. From what I remember the sound quality was better in some videos than others so maybe the mic is not the problem?

I Need Help!
hmm, im not familar with that engine so I don't know what commands are there but..
you could have some kind of trigger in front of an obsticle and when the enemy hits the mark, a random number is drawn, which chooses an action from a list you already created: have the enemy move right, move left, destroy the obsticle, hit into the obsticle, etc.. every time it comes near an obsticle it does something random that you programmed it to do.
basically, give it options, and let randomness decide what it does. if its stupid AI, make more of the options 'hit the obsticle'. if its' smart, more good options.
just a quick thought

The best idea for a game I have ever had.
Random yes, but fit for a game?...ahhhhh dunno about that. Make it a comic or just leave it as an idea.
If this is the best story you have ever come up with then you need to start taking influence from something other than Spongebob Squarepants.
I'm not trying to put you down(or am I? it's hard to tell these days) but if you label something "the best idea I ever had" and present this then your just asking for it.

Pre-Order BONUS
Pre-Order BONUS
Not exactly.
It's likely that these people would have downloaded the game anyways. An extra room in a demo isn't really a huge incentive. If that stuff is in the demo how exactly would someone not be able to access it in the editor anyways?
It's a new blog so it appears on the front page, it's not strange for that to be posted on when it first comes out. I clicked on it just to see how a pre-order on RMN would work. Most of the posts aren't to pre-order and the more people that comment on it the more others will comment on it as well ^.^ Just sayin'
The idea of a "pre-order" for this type of game is kind of silly, but whatever blows your bubble. I'll probably download at some point just to see how the action element plays and how it was programmed.
