Need a Writer?
I'm not at the point of writing yet, but I will need help once I get there. I'm not going to have a huge main story but there will be lots of sub-quest's and NPC's that need dialogue and backstories. Could be months away so I'll just put this bug in your brain :P

Don't commit to too many projects though or things could get overwhelming. And I would suggest checking out the user your going to help. There's a lot of...sub-par games out there with creators who might drag you down with them. So far the responders are good guys tho!
It's good to see people like yourself offering their services, good writing is something many games here would benefit greatly from.

I think even the simplest story would suffice for a Zelda game, so to answer your question, yes I think people will want some form of storyline to follow.
And after playing through this I really enjoyed it, the bridge puzzles are clever and made me actually think for a moment.
It is really staying true to the original series in all respects, while adding its own twists.
Keep this up, this project is really awesome. :]
Hmm, yeah. At first I had pretty detailed story in mind but I think I'll try and come up with something simple that isn't cliche. Probably won't even have Ganon. His NES pig graphic is kinda lame anyways haha but thanks for your kind words :) I will most definitely keep this up.
And then there's Davenport, don't pay any attention to him. I sure don't. Anybody can clearly see he is wrong therefore his attempted insults mean nothing. There's no getting through to people like that and more hate/insults will just fan the flames. I'm not so insecure that a comment like that will have any effect.

Well, I didn't encounter any big bugs while playing, and I didn't do anything to really provoke them. I do have a complaint although it could just be me and my computer, but it opened up in full screen but the bottom half was black for some reason.

That issue with going fullscreen is your PC. I've gotten that on some video setups and a few times it fixed itself as I tried going in and out of fullscreen. It works fine on my PC 100%. Windowed mode isn't so bad, reduce your desktop screen resolution for a bigger window!
This may be the last demo of this game for a while, maybe even until it's finished. Writing story will be hard, so I might even skip a story.

Yes. However, my level has 3 distinct paths for each character. If I did what you suggest it would cause a problem with luigi's path.

Actually, now that I think about it..it's easy for that mushroom to fall in the pit anyways. I wish I would have just placed it on the ground. I'm gonna go update it. *done*

If there's a minor issue I'll just fix it (like swimming over everything in a level, or mushrooms from ? blocks).
In one of my levels(M-Team, mario route) I have a block that gives a mushroom but its the old NES graphic for a mushroom. The point of that level is that most of the power-ups/enemies look like the NES graphics. If you put a fireflower, and your small as mario, you will see a non-NES mushroom. Plus there is a block right after it that gives you a flower, causing you to possibly get a non-NES mushroom if you get hit. It's part of the theme to get a mushroom and would ask that you not change it for that level.
I'm just saying that it shouldnt be a hard rule that every ? is more than a mushroom. Some, a very small amount, should not be changed.
I found it better to put powerups on the ground instead of in blocks. That way you always get what you see, and never just a shitty mushroom if your small.
Most times you will want to change it though. Actually, outside of my "theme" reason I can't think of any others..

Just because the walk speed was slow back in the day doesn't mean that it will fly in this age. We all used to tolerate dial up...yeah. You should increase the walking speed and implement features to allow even faster movement later on. This could be a chocobo, run skill, other things... make it easy to navigate your world, especially if it's an area the character has been through before. They will just want to get it over with. If you try and force some kind of pacing with slow walk speed or no shortcuts then it might turn some players away.
You shouldn't try and make your game exactly like FF5-6. You should take the things that made those games good and make them better.
