TYRANOS'S PROFILE
Tyranos
1115
My name is Richard Allen Torruellas and I love to play games. I also like to do many other things but mostly it's games for me. To me a game has to be fun and some are fun while remaining buggy pieces of crap.
Games inspire a lot of what I do and they make me feel like I get to know the person who made them a little bit more.

Neotech 2 is a Swedish cyberpunk RPG that is one of my favourites. It's been a while since I played it but I hear there's a new edition in the works. Of course I've not played RPGs in ages but I will probably still pick this up. (I mean since I last played any RPGs that lasted more than a session I've bought Savage Worlds, Noir and (new) World of Darkness)
I like Neotech 2 mostly because of it's wound system, which is incredibly detailed. This led to some really amusing moments of people shouting "you hit an artery!" and the system is incredibly deadly, if you're hit you're often down. Even though you might not be dead, you just have to hope that your buddies win the fight and can get you to a hospital really quickly.
Another favourite is Drakar och Demoner (1991 edition), but that's just because it was my first.
I've been looking at the 40k RPGs, how are they? I worked on my own space setting, which was partially inspired by 40k. Though my preferences are always on "regular people" and the 40k rpgs seem like they are focused more on heroics. (The Imperial Guard sourcebook though maybe?) I wouldn't mind playing in a Necromunda-like setting with regular gang warfare and maybe some day-to-day politics. Without the threat of planets ending or whatever the focus seems to be in the 40k rpg.
See when I said I didn't mention some I figured I would forget without looking at my shelf about New World of Darkness and Savage Worlds. Truth be told though I only played those games and never got to run any. The rest you mention I've only heard of in passing but Neotech 2 always was one I wanted to see played in person. Dragons and Demons I played by mistake thinking it was Dungeons and Dragons. It was my second experience in tabletop RPG's as AD&D was my first. I have to say though it's been a long time since I've gotten to play the older RPG's out there. The 40k games are actually pretty fun because in true 40k fashion it's mostly about the combat. I don't mean games revolve around combat I mean the combat is fairly fleshed out with regards to hitting different body parts and armor giving a different rating to those parts and breaking after too much damage etc. Most of my experience is with Deathwatch though where you play Space Marines. Only War is the one where you play Imperial Guardsmen and Rogue Trader is where you play people who start with next to nothing and press their own agendas by piggybacking the Rogue Trader NPC. Dark Heresy leaves you as agents of the Inquisition. Those three might be more your style if you like more normal people instead of Space Racis- Marines.

[RMN Drama] The guy who made the Final Fantasy Mystic Quest remake is trying to sell it
Why is this even a thing? How stupid do you have to be to claim that a giant studio has hired you to remake their games when you have no record as a designer or any portfolio. The company sure as hell doesn't even approach people to remake their games anyways.
Where is a good torch when you need it? Someone has to cleanse this heresy with fire and sword. He's going to bring RPG Maker low with this BS.

@Liberty: Mind telling me what may have caused the issue? I've never heard of this issue at all, and am not sure how it was caused to Tyranos. Nobody else that's installed the game and played through has ever reported this to me before o_o;;
It was a generic issue. All text in all RPG maker games save for the VX, Ace, and XP ones was terrible looking. It was just a giant blob of blurs. I assume I somehow screwed up my Fonts in the windows file but I don't know how.
Also on topic...Liberty, got any games? With a maker score that high you have to have one or two I can play.

If you mean the 2k/3 font issue where fonts are ugly as sin, there's the fix in the utilities area of the site (check the last page of the 2k3 utilities).
If that's not the issue... uh... nice topic you have here... :backs out slowly:
That is exactly what I was talking about. I could barely read it. Thanks for telling me where to find the fix. I knew it was somewhere on here.

Illusions of Loyalty is done. Holy cow was it a fun game. Anyone that hasn't played it yet is really missing out on what it was like to play RPG's back in the day.
Did you do all three endings? ;)
Just so you are aware, you need a fourth ending where Wilder dies anyways. Because I stab him. Because he pissed me off so badly during my LP. Everytime I REALLY needed him to succeed he would fail. Twice in succession in fact. One time he failed THREE TIMES IN A ROW. I hate that guy.

...Did you get the CommandRTP file that's listed on the download page?
CommandRTP: http://www.mediafire.com/download/0t7tsb57gb37kfs/CommandRTP.rar
*ONLY get if the game is not running properly when first starting it or encountering an error that requires the default RTP set for some reason!
That's what's there on the download page...
Gonna re download it because I think I deleted the files and reinstalled them due to the great font error that was happening. Fixed it but I'd like to know how I caused it to begin with.
In other news I was able to contact Brick Road and get some questions that I don't think he covered in his 9 hour LP of Kinetic Cipher. The rest of my questions are actually covered by his commentary on his LP so I'm looking forward to playing KCA.

Okay so up next is your game Xenomic hopefully nothing will break within the first save segment so I can at least have 1 part uploaded. EDIT: Well it looks like the RTP is not present or registered.
Also Oh Carnby We the People is having font issues. I'm going to see if I can't find that one ZIP for almost every font used so far on RMN. I think it might be down by now though since I used it years ago.
This means I move forward on the list and hopefully this next game works.

Illusions of Loyalty is done. Holy cow was it a fun game. Anyone that hasn't played it yet is really missing out on what it was like to play RPG's back in the day. I'll be encoding them all night and upload them as I can. I'll be up a bit late tonight but I don't know if I'll get them all up. I also have a final review segment for it because there was so much to say and I never even covered the music.
Also I'll be attempting Nsala Liberation after Touhou and We The People. Most likely it will be in between for Touhou since that is a massive game apparently. I think I'll actually be making a list in the OP to keep track.

Doesn't it suck when people just disappear from the face of the internet
I'd like to also mention that I left this forum for a while myself. Took me a bit to get my life enough order to start coming back and all that but I started by finding dhm and shooting him my skype ID. It was him who suggested I ask some people on here if I can play their games. But I was already posting reviews and downloading a couple. So good luck with whatever you all decide to do and don't forget to say hi to ol' Gunderson as it were when you get the time.
