TYRANOS'S PROFILE

My name is Richard Allen Torruellas and I love to play games. I also like to do many other things but mostly it's games for me. To me a game has to be fun and some are fun while remaining buggy pieces of crap.
Games inspire a lot of what I do and they make me feel like I get to know the person who made them a little bit more.

Doesn't it suck when people just disappear from the face of the internet
Oh well it's a channel that focuses on games. I do LP's and reviews. I also want to do a sort of podcast maybe over skype with developers because a large part of me wants to know what makes them tick. For instance when you look at game design two things stand out. Character design and of course level design. These two things are SUPER important. Kinetic Cypher is a VERY early game that boasts the best level design I have seen in a long time. I'm curious as to inspirations and even methods that developers use when they develop these games.
Maybe Brickroad spins in a circle, sits down, and thinks of lasers when designing maps or characters, either way I kind of want to know. You can find the channel here in all of it's lack of glory.

Oh also, I'm doing a remake of A Blurred Line. I'm thinking more catpeople, maybe an alien character you pickup at a mud wrestling fan service area, and mechs for enemies. I might even add a segment where you play a breast fondling minigame only to find out it's man boob. (Crosses fingers)
(For extra Lysander summoning power) I also intend to make Talan a "Belieber".
EDIT: I don't have a clue how to make a game but I hope that was not ammunition for a messed up little release during one of Kentona's "Make something in X days" contests...

Things happen. You can't control them and sometimes you lose touch with people. Whether or not it's on a good note IS something you can control though.
I wanted to play some games from well known yet gone makers but I don't like recording things without permission for a channel. Granted it's a free game and I'm not making money from it a part of me is too respectful to just pick something up and do an LP. That being said though...there are some games I miss dearly and it sucks that my new computer doesn't have the files on the hard drive. It also sucks that I cannot get into contact with those developers. Some honorable mentions will be listed below.
- Brick Road who did Kinetic Cypher I believe. I might have his name wrong.
- Mayor Anime who did Lost Legacy which was my first massive RPG that I spent 40+ hours playing.
- The brilliant mind behind Romancing Walker (name might be off). I seriously wish I knew that persons name but from what I could tell he/she? used a couple of different monikers.
- I forget his name but he did A/The Blurred Line. This MIGHT be Brick Road as well but I remain unsure.
These are all people I would give anything to meet and interview for the channel because they have some of the best development and production values in certain areas of their games. And those games are VERY EARLY games in the RPG Maker scene. I recently have been playing Illusions of Loyalty and it feels like the characters are written so well that a part of me wonders if those older games were ever a part of the inspiration for Aegix Drakan. I remember a lot of old games and there is nary a name you can throw down that I hadn't played as a teen back in high school or a little afterwards. I loved Legion Saga and until it was mentioned here I had a hard time remembering the name of the game or it's creator.
All I know is that these people are a huge inspiration to me and even if they are dead or just gone I'll remember how their games got me into the independent games scene and how they inspired me to make a magazine. Indiegnation Magazine was huge at my high school and it spread to other schools. It was my own after school project and I totally would do it again if I could.

Hmmm let me go ahead and give a new link. It must have messed up somehow. Also I just cannot beat that damn Necromancer at level 4-5. I actually have gotten to level 9. College finals got in the way. However I'm readying and uploading some stuff now.

I look forward to this. One of my favorite games is Aurora Wing and Tactics Blade is a close second among the games that use tactics style battle systems.
Also I'm uploading about 5 more videos for Illusions of Loyalty tonight Drakan. I found something that does pretty good but I was playing around with settings to see what I could do. I'm looking forward to getting through that forest of doom now that I have done some grinding.

I found something that will deal with RPG Maker VX. That being said though I have 7 or 8 parts recorded so far for Illusions of Loyalty and I look forward to playing some more soon. I just think I would like to get these videos up right away before I start submitting them.
Sorry for the audio quality being subpar. I really don't know much about sound editing and I don't have large quantities of time to dedicate to learning all of it.

I have to say avidemux is not encoding games from XP or VX without crashing. That being said videos will be uploaded VERY slowly. Unless Camtasia can handle it. But so far 2 other programs cannot edit the sound or video either so we will see.
Until then it's SLOW uploads that take around 6 hours a piece or so.

Hm...perhaps you'd be interested in giving my game a try? It's a beta, but runs upwards to 20-30 game hours (50% done storywise). Hasn't been updated in a while though, so there might be some issues here and there like some songs not working right or other miscellaneous bugs or errors that I haven't gotten around to.

Hmmm. I had a crash about 15 minutes into the game because it couldn't load facesets 1. Also no music works at all. I've been busy all week so I finally got around to trying it out. Sorry for the late replies people. I'll be moving onto We the People next but since that's a demo it likely will be done today leaving me putting up an episode of Illusions of Loyalty.
By the way Oni's line "Yo. Don't mind me barging in here." was hilarious. Now we know how to enter locker rooms, bathrooms, and bedrooms without knocking LOL.
Art
Well I've started a youtube channel and I was looking for artwork matching my name. I was thinking on a style that was more realistic looking as opposed to anime or anything. With a close up pic of a dragons eye and a picture for the top of the channel page matching the theme of a dragon.
Like I said I had some money saved up for this and possibly getting a new sound card as my old one broke. However three medical emergencies have left me broke in the area of extra funds. I was thinking that I might be hiring the artist in a few months or so since I want to pay well so they can make some really good art and feel okay with the time they spend on it. Especially since I want a couple pictures.

Well that's my channel link. However I just realized I can add more media than one at a time. I feel derp now.
EDIT: I had no clue I could combine media submissions. That would have saved me so much time and hassle. I saw that it was possible but was worried about Kentona coming through my window with cheese wire and a baseball bat.

So I have The Room done. I have three parts. I had to redo so much though and it bothers me that it crashes my video editing program when I try to encode it. Congratz on getting a raw upload from FRAPS Soul Hacker. Not sure why but every part of that recording is being a jerk and crashing my video editor. I'm going to watch the parts myself and see if they actually came out ok. If not I'll have to redo it. It only took me 30 minutes to play the game at first but all the crashing BS just came out of nowhere.
Milennin I'll try your game out too. Touhou is next though so yours might be uploaded in between those videos.
