Creating a Custom Game Installation & Expansion Pack Tutorial
Snotty responses, much? Thanks for the helpful tutorial. I, personally, had no idea how to do this with the icons and install screen.
Random Number Generation: The death of the Critical Hit
author=ChaosProductions
I've often toyed with the idea of rates in the place of chances - having results that occur with a fixed distribution. For example, inflicting Burn every third use for a fire-damage spell.
.
So basically the strategy involved there is "Cast fire spell twice, leave Burn queued up." A bit too predictable (your second paragraph is much better design). Like in FFX's abusable Grand Summon overdrive, all you had to do was get Yuna to fill her overdrive guage and BAM! Free megablast in your next battle. (Nevermind that this is ON TOP OF the summon's own overdrive guage...)
And so begins another story in the Saga of SorceressStudios
How did you go about planning the different response and branches of conversation? I have an easy time planning a flow chart but never actually plugging in the exact dialogue. I tend to get caught up in "I need dialog which hints at X but doesn't reveal Y" and then not being able to write that line cleverly enough :D;
Logo Advice
Put a square or two around the logo - even if it's just a two-pixel thick line you add in MSPaint - to make it really look like a "logo" or an icon, and not a random image of your 'company''s name :) Then you can make a smaller version that simply has the "RPG" letters with a box around it, as a forum avatar, or whatever.
Also, make less of a space in between "Randomized Production Games" and make the font a tiny bit smaller. It looks very professional if "RPG" is what hits you in the face, and then "Randomized Production Games" is written out significantly smaller beneath it.

BUSINESS COMPANY would be "RPG" in red/green/blue and then "GLOBAL SOLUTIONS" would say the full name written out - or reverse that

Okay! Good idea/s. Honestly, the bigger white font doesn't thrill me - It's RM2k3's default, which I'll swap out with fontchanger when I get it working - and these bio images aren't implemented yet so I have time to see how I feel about formatting :3 I'll probably cut it down to the face sprite and key poses only (of which only Casting is present) and a one-line blurb like that when a new character appears.

Arifans is a made up term.
THIS kind of was the point...
I have no idea why I read that as "Africans." Woops

Ahhh, yes, backwards updating. GRRRRR. Sux.
My personal style is to color only the speaking character's NAME in the text box. That way, at worst, you could change that particular color slot in the System image... and at best, mismatching colors are for one single line.

If you're going to make Afro-french names, they should be spelled correctly - Veracite. I can understand if Viracitee is a sort of "pun" or intentional misspelling but, if someone knows the original language or word, it comes across as ignorant - and if they don't, the point is lost.
