YEASTER'S PROFILE

Hi! Thank you for peeping at my profile.

I like making modern-themed games. My first game, Onyx, was made in 2006, when I was a senior in high school. So it's pretty ROUGH, but people seem to like it? Total Chaos is my personal favorite, but it has some, erm, issues, too. Mystery Man Zero is coming you guys, I haven't forgotten about it. A full-game will come out even if it takes 10 years. Oh gosh, I hope it doesn't take that long, but you get what I'm saying, right?

Right now, I am also working on A Nightmare in Sunnydale, a horror genre mesh-up fangame, if you will. I also like playing games. Actually, playing RPGM games is legit one of my favorite pastimes. *insert smiley here*

When I can fit it in, I do a little bit of Gatekeeper as well, a sci-fi fantasy about a team of god-lite forces, Gatekeepers, who have to protect the dying Earth from forces they don't even know about.

If thou think they can take it, download some of my stuff!

Why does dying have to suck?

mass berserk the party to enemies that resist all physical attacks.
this is one of my oldest (and favorite) tricks in the book. <3

I think there's a regular enemy on SMT2 that casts a Berserk-like skill on the party and then proceeds to cast reflect on itself the next turn. Brilliant.

Is it just me, or are battles where it all goes wrong for RM games?

*dead*

People seriously get annoyed by spell names?? x.x

Catchy music is a great thing to have to make battles enjoyable.

Pretty much.

I also think that making battles fast-paced can help prevent boredom for certain players. Personally, I never had much of a problem with battles RM game or no, unless there were a lot of them and they all dragged endlessly.

this used to be Complete Chaos's title screen many eons ago =P

Why does dying have to suck?

We see RPGs become easier and easier just to prevent you from having to reload your save file

I've been doing this, for better or worse. Complete Chaos is without a doubt my easiest game yet, whereas Onyx is definitely my hardest game (because I didn't really know what I was doing when I made it). Anything that I thought would give anyone playing Complete Chaos too much trouble, I took out. I still wanted to make the game reasonably challenging at parts, but I didn't want to punish the players. The fact that I got several emails/facebook messages from people who've beaten the game after a month of release made me happy, for I know it was a good while before I got any emails about Onyx 2, heh.

But yeah, I tried to minimize the annoyance-factor of the GOs by having the players save wherever they want, or loading the areas with save points like I did with MMZ.

Games and Why You Play Them

post=133445
Am I the only guy who plays his own games...?

I was just playing Total Chaos last summer for shits and giggles and I loved it despite its datedness. Make of that what you wlll.

I usually play RM games when I'm on break. If it looks interesting, I'll download it. I don't really care how pretty it looks, but more so how unique it looks. If a game looks and sounds too much like every other game that's out, even if it uses gorgeous graphics, I probably won't download it.

What was the last thing you bought at the time of your reading this?

Dinner for me and a close acquaintance

What are you working on now?

My trial ended, so I have to buy the program this week after I get paid. But once I do, I'll finish up the scenes in the second dungeon and it'll be on to dungeon #3.

I thought I did respond???

But yes, that is him. And yes, you should definitely play this. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER!

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey

Hahaha, I'm still a HUGE fan, but I'm trying to get my life situated right now, and part of that means keeping myself on a budget.

If it means anything at all, I've been buying games exclusively from ATLUS since like, 2005. I'll probably get around to buying SJ eventually, once I have myself together.
