YEASTER'S PROFILE

Hi! Thank you for peeping at my profile.

I like making modern-themed games. My first game, Onyx, was made in 2006, when I was a senior in high school. So it's pretty ROUGH, but people seem to like it? Total Chaos is my personal favorite, but it has some, erm, issues, too. Mystery Man Zero is coming you guys, I haven't forgotten about it. A full-game will come out even if it takes 10 years. Oh gosh, I hope it doesn't take that long, but you get what I'm saying, right?

Right now, I am also working on A Nightmare in Sunnydale, a horror genre mesh-up fangame, if you will. I also like playing games. Actually, playing RPGM games is legit one of my favorite pastimes. *insert smiley here*

When I can fit it in, I do a little bit of Gatekeeper as well, a sci-fi fantasy about a team of god-lite forces, Gatekeepers, who have to protect the dying Earth from forces they don't even know about.

If thou think they can take it, download some of my stuff!

Games and Why You Make Them

Also, the only people who hate RPG Maker are people who use RPG Maker.

Ironic.

Perhaps they feel they have something prove? Idgi

Worst videogame character.

^
Some developers try way too hard.

Who in their right mind would leave their house dressed like that?

Best videogame character.

Maya does have my favorite outfit out of all of the SMT games. (Hello Konohana Sakuya)

Maya was the reason I bought Persona. She and the game itself both looked too WTF to pass on. It was the best blind-buy I ever made. <3

5 Reasons It's Still Not Cool to Admit You're a Gamer

Well, preference is one thing, but to label an entire genre as being "bad" because of a few less-than-great experiences is kind of ignorant (not of you--just speaking in general). I'm not a huge fan of RomComs, but I wouldn't say that all RomComs are bad.

In short, every genre has its good and its bad. Of course, everyone will not always enjoy the same things, but exaggerations generalizations like that are seldom good.

5 Reasons It's Still Not Cool to Admit You're a Gamer

Not to open a can of worms, but I think a good writer should be able to write a good story regardless of what genre it's in. Therefore, I don't believe that there is such thing as a "bad" genre.

real literature" on the other hand (which is NOT the Da Vinci Code, man. If you think the Da Vinci Code is literature at all you need to go and read more books) is usually extremely well written, highly unpredictable, and makes you ponder things a little more. The problem? It's often written about subject matter I just don't find interesting.

Not to start an argument, but fantasy and science fiction can't be extremely well-written and unpredictable (well, as much as one can be in 2010)?

What are you thinking about right now?

Per a friend's recommendation, I was invited to an "invitation only" open house today concerning a 'job', but no one bothered to answer any of my questions. I swear if it's someone trying to get me to sell tahitian noni juice again, I'll be livid (and then I'll be gone).

I don't care about telling anyone I play video games. I'm a grown man, and uh, presumably most of you are!

It seems sort of a weird thing to hide behind. If you're an adult, you should own your decisions, words, actions, and what you do.

Completely agree. Playing games isn't like, taboo. lol

I mean, sure, if I'm at the bar and I'm trying to get a date I wouldn't mention my love for RPGs (there are actually several things I wouldn't mention in that case) -- but other than that...what is there to hide? I've played games before around previous gfs and of course they didn't get it/thought it was weird, but ultimately it wasn't an issue.

Just don't tell people you make games on RPG Maker, they'll just laugh at you. ):

All of my friends know I make RPGs and I've shown them all my blog/youtube channel several times. Of course these are all my best friends, so I know that if they try (emphasis on try) to pick on me because of it, it's all in good fun.

I know there's a stigma attached to fantasy and science fiction compared to "real literature".

Huh. So what is "real literature"?
