Don't feel obliged to like Earthbound, many people don't. Nintendo know this already hence no Mother 3 for the US.

@TooManyToasters: The Reconstructed Caribou has a little over 500 HP. What you should use is Duster's Wall Staple to immobilise it (for 2/3 rounds) then proceed to smash the A button. Once it's recovered just use the skill again and repeat until it's owned.

A gigantic, ancient amphibian believed to be guarding The Gate in the nethermost floor of the Cavern of Dreams. It's hard, scaly skin makes it impenetrable to most weapons.It is also said to be a playful creature, often making others fall into a deep slumber (coma-like) only to wake up tired and exhausted from another one of it's tricks.
Most of this information has come from a single bottled message thought to be sent from the Phlegmatic Pond in which Halprog resides. The letter was signed by none other than Mastula, King of the Shadows. Although some scholars argue that this is a forged letter as there's no way to trace it's source, many others point to this as a warning of what lies below for those eager to reach The Gate.
