I'm a computer science student and thus learning how to code...though I also work full time to support myself so my time and energy are limited these days. Still, I hope to get back into gamedev at some point and maybe play a game or two every once and awhile. I'm wanting to maybe learn another engine such as Game Maker or Unity, though RPG's are still my main area of interest so RPG Maker will always have a place in my heart.

A wild developer (finally) appears!

Oh man, I've thought this was dead so many times that I've been pretty divorced from the project mentally. Glad to see it's still being worked on, and shifting the theme away from Pokemon could be pretty cool if it isn't too much work.

As for my mons, I guess I should be flattered that none of mine got flagged with suggestions haha. Still, if anything does need to change, just run it by me and I'll most likely be okay with it. Balancing issues especially are important, though iirc I was pretty conservative with my stats. Anything that helps this game get done at all is great, really.

Oh, and I also think the Plugla line is fine. Every Pokemon monster catching game needs a doofy inanimate object inspired creature that people love to hate on!

Yeah...a terrible week at work after the event started immediately crushed any motivation I might have had to make something for this. Good luck and have fun to all those completing their second halves though!

This should be, uhhh, interesting! I'm super nervous about doing well with my second half game, but this event sounds like a fun way to kickstart game making again so I can at least try!

XP (Not much experience though)
VX (But why??)
Ace (Popular?)
MV (Controversial?!)

I'll most likely make my first half with Ace since it seems like a lot of you will be using it as well, but MV would be my second choice.

Theorycraft/Metagame

It’s been a long, long time since I’ve played Pokémon tcg. I’m not sure if you can search for a stage 1 Pokémon and put it on the bench without evolving it? Referring to Siren’s song.

Is 1-5% a good HP range for a limit break skill? [RM2K3]

Part of what makes FF8's Limit system so busted is the ease of getting characters' Max HP to absurd numbers early in the game, then abusing Junction switching to get them to critical health easily. That said, I think it could work better as a risk/reward system assuming your game isn't quite so broken. :P

And yeah, I would remove any randomness from these skills since the risk is already present with the low HP values.

Also, may I suggest adding damage to the thief's limit as well as the high steal chance? Like Mug.
