Charblar's Art

I thought I might as well put some of my art on here so I can be a little "more involved" on the site since i honestly want to be but I get to focused on my game than being active so here we go.
A lot of these are probably going to be wips...

Ken from Persona 3 for someone's birthday

Character I ended up adding into my current game project

Lineart practice (That is kinda a joke since I really should work on coloring...)

Gon and Killua from HxH button designs I haven't gotten around to selling yet

random doodle

Peeking at Stars

I got around to playing this so...
As always your environment was amazingly done and fit the theme of the game while it was short it really had a lot of feeling in it no npc seemed to have pointless filler in it's dialogue and the spotlight effect on the screen really set mood too. Overall a good experience and a good followup for Carpan.

RMN PLAYS

Sounds like a good idea! I'm honestly a little supplied at the prizes wow (Not really aiming for doing it for them though)

Imaginary Friends

I really enjoyed the demo the art is very cute too i'm looking forward to it!

[RMVX ACE]Using the sprites to make an opening movie

author=macblo
It could play right after the game's opening scene. Some game do that.

If you wanted to do that you could take that approach i stated in the post before recording events and stitching them together so you could do zooming in and other effects and then insert it as a movie in your game.

How do you like crafting your items?

I really think that crafting can either be an enhancing element or something holding a game down but i really do love crafting for an example where you combine items to make a new one i feel that works a lot better in a more open world game where collecting resources would be easier to implement into the environment and provides a bigger push to explore every nook and cranny of the world while upgrading blank to make blank works a lot easier in a more straight forward game or something with levels (hyrule warriors on the wii u has a good example of this through badges)

Additional artists needed

Hello! I'd like to pick up some additional artists for doing tilesets for my game in early-ish development Hanging on. The current team consists of only myself and rmn user Unity a quick overview of the project graphic wise it is going to be in a style similar to the mother series (specifically Mother 3) since a bit of the games atmosphere and elements will be based off that series. Story wise of the game most of the main can be found on this post here. While both Unity and I can do pixel art I'm a little less skilled as others it's not exactly my forte past sprites.
I will provide a majority of map plans with general details of the map

and will easily be able to be reached if you have any questions. As of right now resource wise we only have what makes up Addie's room
any of these resources that we currently have Unity or I can send you (main character sprite in the above picture is an old version for a newer one click here)
While you will be mainly mapping based off stuff I give you I'm very open for you coming up with new ideas and talking them over with me. If you would want to I could give you access to the online planning board on realtimeboard provided you have an email you can give me to use to invite you.
If still are reading (wow i'm still typing this too) and you're interested feel free to pm me or reply!

[RMVX ACE]Using the sprites to make an opening movie

author=macblo
I was watching a video game opening and was wondering, has anyone ever tried making an opening movie with the game sprites? I know its ALOT of work making an opening, but I'm curious to see if anyone has tried it. Using programs to zoom in on the characters, using movie maker and screen shots to place them properly. It seems possible, just extremely difficult. Anyone ever tried to do that?

I have personally never done this but if you're referring to a movie that comes before the title screen that i would suggest making an event(s) and then using something such as hyper cam to capture it then stitch it together in something such as movie maker (if you're going for something not to complicated).

How do you feel about only one gender as playable characters

I have more of a problem towards it if it sides with guys than girls but it all comes down more to if they're diverse if they were put that way for story reasons or if the developer just didn't want to take the time to think that white people for example aren't everywhere.

I'm looking forward to it even the notes you put for the story seems great!
