Oh man... um, do you have RPGMaker2000? There is a demo game inside that could be use as tutorial. Try that.

If not, try RMVX trial and English Patch if you like.

Tutorial for the scene:

1. make an event at the left top screen, then make sure it is an autoplay event start condition.
2. to move the sprites, use command move event
3. to talk, use command show message
4. turn a switch ON just like treasure box to make sure the event run once.
5. make a new page (like treasure box event) at the event and throw the switch as a prerequirement.

do you have rm2k? The demo game has it.

For more complex, try this:
1. Make a picture (a colored dot is okay), draw it in a coordinat.
2. Then, when you move, move the coordinat (For the dot) as well.
That's the main concept anyway.
