This is the opening scene and introduction to another world called, Nilfheim. If you have played the first released demo, this would be the preceeding scene after the cutoff during the sewer events.
As far as the written portion of this story, I will be skipping many different scenes, dialogue and sequences. I would like to, instead, only introduce limited scenes and give exposure to some of the main characters you will meet in the game. So from this point forward, the written story is going to jump around fairly frequently from event to event. However, there will be enough of the story portrayed so that you can understand what to look forward to in game, and how the plot will unravel.

As you can tell, there are many differences between the written version of the story and the actual game beginning at Chapter 2. However, this was not always the case. Initially the game included a desert that took place over an Earth overworld, and the Vesta scene was not illustrated as a flashback. I decided to restruct this portion of the game because I wanted to portray the Vesta Inc. events as a memory and break up the perceived order of events.
As more of the story and game is released, you will learn that Jaquio does not have a clear recognition of the order of events he is involved in. These are the side effects of his "special condition", that, and the hallucinations (nightmares). I wanted the game to amplify this premise by making the Vesta Inc. scene seem as though it was a recollection. In the demo, the gamer is persuaded that the scenes played are actual present events. Lets just say that things are not that simple.

Ok, ok! You don't have to say it, I already know. I chopped up Chapter 1 pretty good. But let me explain. Chapter 1 is extremely long and many of the scenes I left out are not terribly important. Here is what you missed.
1) Killing; There are a few more killing scenes. To those that like brutal fight scenes and murders (you sick, sick person!) this is a bummer because they were the more graphic scenes. However, they were not needed in order to proceed with the storyline.
2) Dialogue; There is more conversation and interaction between Jaquio and Jessica (Jesse). Most of this dialogue was inserted to establish Jessica as a main character in the storyline. However, the actual game does not cover Jessica's plotline. In short, Jessica is linked to Briggs and made a promise to Briggs that she would do something to Jaquio. I will not say more than this because not more than this will be exposed in the actual game. This is why Jessica does not stay in your party in the demo I released. (Sorry! Many of you really like Jessica)
3) DGENS, Project Apotheosis, Project Mallogen; I left out the text concerning genetic mutation because it is 100% covered in the released demo. In summary, DGENS is a scientific experiment to enhance human genetics. This experiment helps the scientists of Vesta Inc. create Gods. Project Apotheosis is the negative result of the DGEN experimentations. The negative results are the product of a deadly virus called, Omega Virus. Once the virus manifested itself, it began killing all of the specimen and even the Vesta Inc staff. Project Mallogen is a way of getting rid of the contaminated specimen and contaminated Vesta Inc staff.
Alright that is it! I’ve truncated other parts of the story much more than Chapter 1, however, because so many details were left out I wanted to fill in some of the blanks as much as possible. Check in later for the next demo installment and story update!
