I'm just some random guy who dabbled around in flash for a few years. Then I found out about RPG Maker, and I've been messing around with it. Hopefully I'll have a game up and running soon.

Can somebody format some sprites?

Tut:
1.) Open gale.exe.
2.) From Gale, go into your folders Program Files -> Rpg2003 -> RTP -> Charsets and open Hero1.png (RM2k3 only uses PNG images).
3.) Look up on the toolbar, click the white grid. Hovering over it, it should say "Custom Grid." Click on it, and scroll down to "Input." Click on that.
4.) Keep both axes checked as visible. Make the dimensions 24x32. Click ok. You should see, on the character sheet, a grid that outlines the space RM2k3 registers as part of the character.
5.) Open up the piece you downloaded from Charas.
6.) Paste it over one of the sets, it should cover 1/8 of the whole grid.
7.) Save as some other name and import into your maker.

This is almost identical to your last help post that I left my advice in. I would give you the same advice now. Go here http://www.humanbalance.net/gale/us/ and download Graphics Gale if you haven't yet.
I'm downloading it now, is there a tut on it, or is it pretty straight foreward?

I went on Charas to make some characters for my game. I did and I made them in the FF5 style, now I tried to format them for R2K3, but every time I do, it comes out messed up.
Could somebody format them for me? I'd post the pictures, but I'm new to the site and I don't know how...

Almost forgot I posted this. Heres another sprite I'm still currently working on. I'm up for anything really.
ferris95 - If you'd like me to work on some characters, just give me a couple quick profiles on two or three characters, and I'll do a some quick sketches for you, and we'll see how we go.

XP charsets for R2K3
The title says it all, I've searched Charas but I can't find any. To be more clear, I need the XP heroes in R2K3 format.

Your favorite type of thing to raid in RPGs
I like to raid the elemental caves/towers/etc. that's where you can find some of the best weapons and armor in my favorite games: Golden Sun 1 & 2.
Sewers though are often just annoying for me, I hate having to go into them when I play games like Oblivion, their just long winding passages with bats, rats and goblins.

Noob Charas Question

2 ideas:
1.) When you make your png, be sure you're saving the actual file and not the tiny preview image. The actual file should be in a separate window/tab.
2.) One Charas image cannot be directly imported. Charas makes 1 full char, but they need to be imported in sheets of 8 of those. Open one of the default out of the RTP and see how they do it. You can go into paint, paste your new image on top of RTP characters, and re-import it as something else. Then you can use your custom char.
I prefer Graphics Gale, it's a free program that is great for sprite editing and you can easily cut and paste, add layers, snap to grids, etc.
