Don't know if anyone else has told you this or not, but you might want to go for .png files or .gif files instead of .jpg. The square around the Rosa lookalike is especially noticeable here as having jpg problems.

That feels like a made-up excuse. :( At least make her Rosa III (the Third) or something. People don't just name their children after dead heroes from 300 years ago.

I think it's also important to note that these people are supposed to be obsessing over these 300-years-dead people. I don't think it's realistic to say that anyone but some eccentric weirdo obsesses over, like, Christopher Columbus and names his son Christopher Columbus Lastname. Especially an entire city, for that many years.

It was just the royal line that reused the names, like England, for instance, or the Pope, but I've taken this down for now. Clearly it wasn't ready for beta testing.

Also, I cannot wrap my head around WHY anyone in Baron following the events of Final Fantasy IV would train to be a Dark Knight, the least of all a descendant of Cecil himself.

Why is his name Kain? Why is the girl's name Rosa? Are the people in FFIV's world so unoriginal that they can only come up with a handful of names to give to their kids for 300 years?

You see what I'm getting at here?

In battle, Rosa's special magic heals for way too much. 6000 HP? It is literally impossible to lose a battle unless you get killed in one shot. Kain's Dark Wave also has no drawback the way the original skill did. It's a little overpowered in that respect.

Yes the battles could use tweaking to be certain.

The names are homage to those who were lost, if you speak with those of Baron they're almost obsessed with the heroes of the past.

And I wouldnt say Dark Knights are evil, at all really, just the person, who in that case, used it. (though baron is now getting away from anything remotely "dark", ie black mages, who arent evil at all really.)

I will note that the line you quoted is grammatically correct, maybe it just sounds wonky? I'll have to read over the script, it's the only decent thing in the game, along with the storyline, which you don't really get to fully get into.

The Dark Wave attack is only in the game for a short time, however, the cost for it is a placeholder, it is supposed to consume portions of life. Rosa's ultimate heal consumes almost all of her MP, so is rarely able to be used and her MP must be conserved to use it at all.

It's ironic that the one person I wanted to speak with in these forums would be the first to post. I made this game in my very sparing free time some years ago. Now that I no longer have to work, I am working on a sequel to Breath of Fire II, which is still pending approval in the queue.

I probably shouldn't have posted this till it was more compete, my fault for hubris. Hopefully someone will get some small enjoyment out of it.
