Takuto Hollywood Preview Parody - "And sometimes...Sound Effects!"

I post it here so that you may here my original hollywood mockup music. The clip follows my self-deprecating sense of humor through my cartoon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t0tnRTw7yo

I really don't like hollywood previews, for the most part due to the fact that I'm a musician.

I really couldn't tell you who created that chinese war drum beat for previews, or who started the cliche build up build up build up PAH!, but appearently it "involves" people or something.

Hope you enjoy.

Man, no replies yet? I will download and tell you what I think. :-)

EDIT: Man Nickad you've really got quite a game here, especially just for a contest entry. It plays out a lot more like a story/adventure game than anything else.

It's really great. The only problems I found was the issue with the fog scrolling. You could easily just make it go to the right....stop.....then to the left.... stop..... then to the right... etc, etc, etc... over and over again.

As for the game itself, the music isn't the MOST memorable of all time but it seriously suits the atmosphere.

Yes, atmosphere. That's it. This project has lots of atmosphere.

Bottom Line:

I can tell you put LOADS of effort into the entry and have a very well rounded atmospheric Adventure-like game. It plays out much like a book, so those that only enjoy quick in your face fast paced action games I would say stay away from this one. It's more for those that enjoy Vampire Books and Chrono Trigger.

In fact, it's as if you took some kind of Vampire/Gothic Science Fiction Book and meshed it with Chrono Trigger-like graphics.

Great job. :-)

Indie vs. Amateur - an article everyone should read

Lets move this over here.

RPG Maker is a story telling tool. It has allowed many great stories to be told. Anyone who is big on playing RPG Maker games knows that a good one can beat commercial games any day.

Indie vs. Amateur - an article everyone should read

I believe that when people here hear "Don't you want to bring an experience to others? To express what is inside of you?" There is a deep resonance. In that world nothing like "amateur vs indie" matters. When I read an article like this I just want to express how big a waste of time it was.

I have a tablet now. I will create my story.

If I didn't have one, I would find another way to create my story.

If I had a million dollars, I would use it to create my story.

It's like that Cat Stevens song of where he talks about if he lost his hands he would play piano with his feet. You use what you have.

Indie vs. Amateur - an article everyone should read

Indie Movie means "Movie created Independantly from the Studios (The big LA ones)".

For games it's the same.

RPG Maker games would be Indie if RPG Maker 2k and 3 wasn't pirated software.

Takuto (Indie Cartoon/Anime Series)

It's strayed pretty far from game at this point. It'd be better if this was moved over to an Art board.

It's now all storyboard, all done with tablet. I'm just going for a full anime series now.

Episode 5 Part 2 of 3 and Episode 5 Part 3 of 3 have been released.

Within Episode 5, the squirrel situation is concluded. Until next time.

Vacant Sky Vol.1: Contention

It's great to see that your still going strong on this project. :-)

What is your opinion on "Filler"

Bleach is a Visual CG Masterpiece, a Musical Masterpiece, and an Audio Engineering Masterpiece. The story is great, though if you don't like Guilty Gear you won't enjoy it.

Love Hina, the manga (for what it is), is a masterpiece and Love Hina is all filler, you could say, however it has loads of comedy.

I am just finishing up with a "Filler Episode" in my own production I guess you could say. The thing is, it's more like a side-plot but it builds the characters as it takes up 30 minutes of the 2 hours completed.

If it involves loads of comedy and builds characters, is it really a filler?

I think it should be dubbed "Side-Plot".

Hello. How are you doing?

Great to have...umm...I would say 'more composers' but you've been here for a year. :P

Indie vs. Amateur - an article everyone should read

Personally I think it all lay in the heart.

If you put love into your artwork people will notice.

It's like Dark Gaia said, it's a critic thing. It's easy to sit back and create articles about this stuff (well...it takes time that's for sure) but creating by yourself can be a tough task and one that takes a LOT of heart.
