[ADVERT] Takuto - Episode 1
I am a composer.... At least I've always wanted to be.
2 ½ years ago, I started to chat with a friend of mine (who was, at the time, attending Pittsburgh Art Institute) about creating a story. We chatted a lot over and over about this, though eventually I became obsessed with the idea; creating a handful of tracks modeled after typical Japanese animation soundtracks, taking up drawing and creating many characters. I came up with an Opening, and an Ending, and started creating parts of the story modeled specifically to particular songs from Anime and Game soundtracks; creating pictures to encase my vision within the sands of time (you won‘t lose your original inspiration if you create a picture or symbol to a song and trap it somewhere where it won‘t die for a while).
After half a year of learning to draw I started to create the web comic version of this project. After doing a lot of the math on how to finish the project within a year and make it as big as Naruto or Bleach I found that I would have to draw about 6-8 pages a day. I ended up drawing 1 page a day sacrificing quality and making it through 120 days. (I was on about…page 116 I think?
I realized later on that not only was the project not going in the direction I would like it to be going in, but it would take waaaay too long to create 3000-6000 pages this way. (I was thinking that a 20 Volume Manga would suffice, including over 100 unique characters/ 25 main characters x_x) I will not sacrifice length of story, and I will not sacrifice music quality. PERIOD! >;-(
So after a LOOOONG time of thinking, thinking, thinking (enough to make me sick, depressed, to make me want to kill myself; no joke intended ;-/ ) I have decided this summer that I will do it as a Video Game, or in an RPG Maker form.
Actually, this doesn't necessarily mean that the project will be a Video Game. This is a decision that I have had a hard time making, but after more calculations on how long it will take I am leaning towards pure RPG Maker XP Machinema. (no gameplay, all cut scenes)
Some of the features of Takuto include:
Low-res, even though RPGXP (to me, Seriously a good feature)
Custom Chipsets
Custom Charsets
Custom Facesets
Custom Soundtrack
Custom Animations
Hand-Drawn Comic-like Cutscenes
NO use of any RTP Graphics WHATSOEVER
The Entire Production will be Voice Acted (this is good for voice actors that want a role)
Some screenshots for you: (I know they aren't the best, but everything done visually for this rm game is custom)

A bit on the soundtrack (all songs here will be in Episode 1):
The soundtrack has been composed over the course of 2 1/2 straight years and includes more than 180 tracks spanning 6 seasons. As I've probably already stated, I've always wanted to be a composer of a big project. So, as I didn't see any projects coming my way, I have been hard at work creating my own. I hope you enjoy the soundtrack of Takuto as I have studied scientifically the psychological effects of having a ‘Melody palette'. (Melodies that repeat over and over again until the point in where they themselves become characters)
Track 1 CD 1 - Opening is the opening for the first season. This opening will play through Episodes 1-11 and I was thinking maybe even have a final full version play on the finale (12+13). If any of you have been paying attention to this project over the past 2 years, you'll notice that the Opening song is different. This is because for a bit of variation the First Opening has been switched with the Second, and vice versa with the Endings. The song that was originally the First Opening will now be the Second Opening.
Track 2 CD 1 - The Fruit of Life is supposed to be a comedy song. The word to describe this track should be “jollyâ€. And as this song strolls along it's way merrily it shows how Takuto, Juno, and Mina pathetically failed the entrance exam to the point in where the Mayor is yelling at them that he will NEVER allow them to pass the test (Takuto failing three times, Juno and Mina twice).
Track 15 CD 2 of the Soundtrack - Day of Fate (FLCL Version) is an adaptation of Fooly Cooly's “Last Dinosaurâ€. I was thinking, listening to the Fooly Cooly Soundtrack “hmm…I have to adapt one song from this…â€. I had a mini-tournament between all the songs in the soundtrack, and Last Dinosaur ended up the winner.
Track 16 CD 2 of the Soundtrack - The Ending named “Nature†was sung by an online friend by the alias of Iris Wisteria. It was originally the First Opening for Takuto, then it was moved back to
So what do I want to bring with this production? I want to make it so that you can learn to love the characters, learn to love the songs, and create an overall fun and enjoyable story; like reading a really good book. And, of course, I want to bring this to as many people as humanly possible; which is probably the hardest part of all...
The form, which I was originally strict about, I'm learning, doesn't matter as much as the essence that I want to bring. As I release this production episode by episode, I hope that it can be “good enough†for you to enjoy. :_0
I was too late to attend RPGMaker.net's Release Something Event. I guess I'd consider this my entry.

Super Project Idea
It'll only work if it's a comedy.
Secondly, there has to be a director for the project.
Think of it this way; Everyone on forums has amazingly low attention spans. It has to be casual to the point where it is just a "fun-little-thing-to-do".
