Busted.
No really, I use it (moderately) on sunny outdoor maps. There are many places where I don't.

O which one?
Syncope, the one for putting him to sleep. But you should cast Syncope during the 2 turns after Dibhraa casted Flamboyance, otherwise you will be ejected.

Also i cant figure out how to beat that Dhara. Or lightning boss. Ive put him to sleep but he can still boot me from the battle. Do i need to earn skills to change the element from lightning?
You should use a specific skill of Nelis when Dibhraa is getting ready to eject you out of battle, this will cancel his attempt.

I've played this game last year
And now, I don't see any development going on
Many manly tears were shed today
The game has been on hiatus for about a year now. I don't know if or when I will be able to resume work on it, although I don't consider it to be "abandoned".

Billed as a blog post :) Thanks to you, Creation!

Giving Feedback: Pass or Fail
Congrats for your 20 pass or fail videos ! And a big, big thanks to you for picking my game !
I hadn't suggest you to try Reincarnations (although I reallly really wanted to), because of this 15 min mark. The actual game, the first battle, starts around 20 mins after the beginning (5 min if you skip the intro), so this (very) long intro would not have fit the pass or fail format...
Anyway, I'm delighted, and I own you a big thank for testing it !
About what you said, you are right. The intro has got a quite big amount of text which should be cut shorter without decreasing the enjoyment. Ill take your advice and rework those things!
That aside, the current state of the translation has been all done by myself, and it's until I saw your video that I noticed some mistakes (the "believe my eyes" thing was indeed quite akward haha).

The project is in RRR game database, and has a topic on RRR, HBgames, ChaosProject and RMRK forums, so I guess I'll keep posting news on those forums.
Still, it is quite unfortunate for RMN users that the site will close, I've found such a game-profile focused website very, very good...

They are indeed Ragnarok Online characters, with some color edit.
Characters being at the other side being mold breaking, eh? I have been told exactly the same thing in the past! Someone once told me it was rarely/never seen on J-RPG to have characters on the left.
They were initially like the "standard", on the right, during the initial part of the battle system development (around 4 years ago...). However, due to some GUI design choice (mainly by having the selection menu and the element circle on the left side), I could not keep enemies on the upper left side of the screen, they would have been hidden. That is the reason why everything has been mirrored.
I have seen this battle system far too many times to notice that it's a bit different from the rest... it kind of became my standard ^^;.

author=StrangeluvPersonally, I think it doesn't work like that. What you say is true if the game is awaited and already has a fan base, and is impatient to check your newest demo.
(or maybe I am wrong to consider the first couple of days of a game's release to be one of its peak selling periods?)
However, for non-blockbuster (yet) project, no one knows your project (or don't pay attention) and the rise to fame is a slow path. 50% of advertising, 30% of good review and feedback, 20% of luck. And it is only when the project breaks through the mass of the average project, that you get most of your download.
Aside having a good game, those things help :
* being reviewed in forums
* being reviewed in RPG making websites, in their front page.
* being reviewed by other makers (like Let's try)
* win an award in a making competition
* putting videos that are VERY impressive and leave a deep impression
To me, it is all about exposure, patience, and good feedback. I insist on feedback, because people are heavily influenced by what others say.
The only thing I can think of is doing advertisement in every forum you can. Basically, the more people see your project, the more chance you have to get some followers. Try also to hit more generalist gaming forums, outside the rpg making sphere. Players outside the rpg making scene have a quite different taste and they might like it. Slowly build exposure. And at some point, because a lot of people will be talking about your game. And the more people are talking about your game, the more other people will be curious to see it. if you manage to impress people well, download will skyrock.
I saw the review of Creation (see, if I didn't watch his review, I wouldn't have looked at your game), and your game is quite good. As I'm French (just like Creation), I confirm that the community in Oniromancie (biggest French forum) is a big sucker for original rm2k3 games. While you should focus on English-speaking forums where you will get most of your fanbase, it doesn't hurt to start doing some advertisement abroad because it is still "more players".
My 2 cents. Many things have already been said anyway

Thanks!
Actually, I'm very mixed about what to do with battle backgrounds. There is a bit of history. The main problem is the game is set in a lot of different places, and I can't find a decent source of homogeneous looking 2d background for each one, or backgrounds that looks like "how I want it to look".
Since I used to play Ragnarok Online, I know the game pretty well, and have a good idea of what ingame location would be good to use as a background. Fact is that I just wander around in the mmorpg until I find a perfect spot and use it as a battlebackground.
But using screenshots of a old 3d game with low res texture, in contrast with detailed sprite and in a completely 2d game, made it look a bit weird. Hence the choice of making them look like paint.
Indeed, it would be awesome to find a source of decent and 2d looking background, if you have any recommendations perhaps.
