Also, it is nothing big, but I think that the addition of shadows for the characters would actually look quite nice (not to mention that the trees and other objects have shadows!). But, again, it's not a large issue, and you can always attend to the finer details once you're well into production :).

Cliffs... Just don't do that. Add a little bit of variety! Make it more organic - Curves my friend! Design your cliffs like a good woman.

Common events are the way to go with this as if you wish to edit any part of the event at a later date, you may edit it in the common event and it will activate the newly updated one (just make sure in the event you're actually activating the right common event!).
