NICKAD'S PROFILE

I like to smell people :).
I have an absurd fashion of littering my game creations with unnecessary light-maps and overlays.
I am fond of RPGs and first-person shooters, and have an astounding joy for horror games.

What makes a good dialogue?

Good dialogue, to me, should have the following criteria:

- Flow with the character's personality and speech (so if someone is always in a bad mood, then make the dialogue contain negative vocabulary. If the character always speaks poetically or with large words, make him/or her poetically and with large words).

- Be about the matter at hand, or topic. (Basically by this, I mean that the dialogue/text should stay on topic, and not stray away from it (or at least not stray away for too long!). So, if someone has been killed, then the dialogue that follows should be about the character's death, not on what they are going to eat for dinner).

-Be quick and concise. (The dialogue/text should be fairly quick, as the player does not want to be dredging through hours of dialogue (if this is a game that is!), and should get right to the point. There is no use in drawing out).
Hopefully that helps someone :-\.

Light Map Dilema!

Alright... I tried this method, but it appears that it is too small for my map! The light map/overlay does not completely cover my map (it's 26 x 16) ???. Any suggestions as to make it completely cover my map?
Edit: Whoops, double post. Sorry.

Light Map Dilema!

Alright. I'll try that, and tell you if it works.
Thank you for your help :D!

Specify more what the effect is. What are you importing the image as? Panorama? Picture? Make sure the screenshot is in the right scale, as in, you've pressed F5 first.
Well, I am importing it as a picture. It's a light map, so basically it is lighting effects for light sources, etc, like an overlay (picture on top of the map to give an effect). I'm also not too sure on the scale of importing a picture (the maximum size for a picture). I should have mentioned that in the first post... My fault :-X.

Light Map Dilema!

I have a dilema!
I would also like to get some advice as to how to create a working Light Map. I know already how to make the effect itself, but how to actually make it work is the problem. I currently am not sure on how to do it. So far, I have tried taking a screenshot of the map in x1, and then using layers in Gimp to create the effect, yet, when I import it into RM2K3, it says the image is not the right size (either it's too big or too small) ???. Does anyone know a method that works? And how would I go about doing it? Sorry if I have worded the question badly :-[.

I'm a mapping machine today:

This is from the Ghostship. It is wandering around the seas of the realm, it's undead captain searching endlessly for his lost love.

Does it have a ghostly mast as well :)?
I also think that it could be a little darker. If it's a ghost ship, then it should be a little darker and more ruined? Just my opinion on it.

Hello and thanks for being a part of RMN.

Also, a question that i have been wanting to know for a while. Why is your username nickad?
Shhh, they'll hear us :-X.

Hello :)

Well, I've been wandering around here long enough... I've decided that I should introduce myself!
My username says I'm nickad, but you can call me Nick (don't ask about the username, it's a long story).
I come for Australia ;D.
I like RPG's, and First-Person Shooters. I'm also making something in RPG MAKER 2003 ;).
I've had experience in RPG MAKER, and have made various games that never actually got anywhere (they basically improved my RPG MAKER knowledge).
I think that's most of what I was going to put in here.
I hope to post here more frequently and become a proper member here :).

Guess the Game!!!

I'm not sure how long it's been, but let's keep this topic going!
I'll post something.

I wonder what this is ::)?
