Even if you go back into the achievement menu, you still can't get it? For achievements with multiple tiers, if you unlocked more than one tier at a time, you have to re-enter.
Nope. Even now in the post-game I still can't get it. I think it may be because I completed the entire achievement at once, since there are only the two tiers.
I'm actually playing a new playthrough now, with hopes of getting 100%. Really neglected alchemy and missed a minimedal. The way I see it, the hardest part will be the no church achievement, and even then just in Rhemage because of those darn Foos. :)

Can someone help me out: what/where is monster number 61? I'm assuming it's an NM in the Wind Castle since that's the general area of the other monsters in that area, and 62-64 are the metal slimes in the same area in the present, but what is the area for it? Upper levels, lower levels, etc?
edit: And then the first fight I get into in the Wind Castle is the monster I needed. So, if anyone else needs to find number 61, it is indeed an NM in the Wind Castle. I found it right inside, on the first floor.

can someone please help me i am stuck i am in Illae village and the statue has been broken in the night aparantly by a vine that went into the ground(there appears to be something stuck in the ground but clicking it does nothing)but no clue as to what i have to do
You have to go back to the forest (I think the one where you got the ore for the statue, but I don't remember offhand, sorry) and you'll find the source of the vines.

I just found a bug/glitch, in the achievement system. If you complete multiple tiers of a multiple tier award before collecting the reward for each, you only get the points for the most recent tier.
Example: I cleared the past Arena and then went straight to the present Arena and cleared that, then went to the Achievement Man and only got one point for the present one. The box for it is still flashing, for the past arena, but I can't collect the point.

Oh geeze I have a couple more questions, sorry:
1) For the Ragnarok sword, I have the necklace and I'm wandering around in the forest where you get Moon Flowers. Is this the right place? All I'm fighting are the beginning game monsters which is...easy, to say the least. :)
2) For Melody's skill, I'm assuming I need to be in the catacombs (again! oh no! lol) for the crest the guy says I need -- should I just be fighting random battles until I get what I need, or is there a specific place I should head for?

Monsters can actually be really good! Do you outfit them with a Dragon King's Emblem or their relic accessory? In addition, genes can really help make up for not being able to have equipment besides the accessory.
Yeah, now that he's properly leveled, Hargon is a beast. Highest agility, other stats are pretty good all around, and a good spell selection. He has the Magus Fortunae right now, partly because I haven't really found that many monster accessories due to not using them until now and partly because I cannot pass up 11 MP HealUsMores.
As for the catacombs, preparing a map for you now. :)
You are my favorite person. Thank you! I don't know why I keep getting so turned around in this place! I have a bunch of Dark Robes now though! Hopefully they'll sell for a decent price lol.

I am having a heck of a time in the catacombs. I went in with about 15 torches, at level 32-35 for everyone.
Then I had to leave because I only had four torches left and everyone is at least level 38. I cannot find my way around here.
Ready for round 2 with 25 torches. Hopefully this time goes better.

Round two did not go better, and I restarted with about 10 torches left.
Round three ended in a rage quit after I got really unlucky with criticals in a random battle.
Round four go.
...any chance I could get a map? :(

Do monsters eventually become viable? I'm leveling up a Hargon right now and he's...okay-ish, I guess, but the four humans seem like they're easily better than three humans and a monster (or any other combination).
edit: also I just want to say I'm really enjoying the game. It's getting me pumped up for the DQ7 remake! 7 is one of my favorites (tied with 9 after 6 and 8) so I really enjoyed the shard hunting.

Ugggh this fight. First one I've been really annoyed with. Is there any way to actually remove Majestus from my characters?
