What's important?
Your right I should have told you exactly what I meant by pacing.
It has noting to do with how long the game is. A perfect example is Earthbound, it is pretty long, but it has no pacing. reason!!! Because in earthbound you don't get to know your characters on a deep level your just thrown in to it... In all the FF lost odyssey etc you get to know your character's on a deep level and that's what I mean by pacing.

Are you a fan?
Are you a fan of multiple endings, in an rpg?
I personally am not a fan of them. In fact, with the exception of Chrono Trigger,I would go as far as to say I hate them. I personally think it's a cop-out, and it tells me the developer does not know how to create an excellent story. So instead he's gonna fog the vision of the player by giving him ton's of choices and endings, in hopes that they will not realize what a plain, boring story it really is. Of course it's fun to have choices in a game, but there's also a time and a place for them, and don't make those choices effect the outcome of the game either. That to me is not only stupid, but can also be frustrating when I feel like I didn't make the right choice, or I should have done that, or you don't want something to happen and you could have prevented it. And in terms of what it does to the story, well let's just say I want to read the book, I don't want to have to write it to. Most of my "Real life Friends" disagree with me, so it got me thinking... Is there anybody out there that is picking up what I'm thrown down? Even if you disagree with me I still want your opinion as to why. Just be cool brothers,My topics are all supposed to be intelligent conversations, meant to broaden your horizons, as well as my own.

What's important?
no jabbo it was not up there the whole time. You see, I make my game on my computer(does not have Internet) and I use my dads ( who is an #$@hole) when he let's me. so that's why I'm short with some of my stuff I write. And to clarify, Pacing is where the story is real slow allowing player's to get to know the character's before the big stuff happens aka FF8. FF7 is an example of a game that throws you in to the drama and you have not gotten to know the character's. and that's also the reason I asked FF7 or FF8, because that tells me exactly what type of gamer you are...There is a method to my madness bro!!! I will be the first one on this topic to say ff8.
Ps. to everybody else that gives there opinion, please don't say of course FF7.
FF8 is a great game and to me has a much more involving story.

What's important?
Don't say of course like it's a given dragon lord. the fact is most Americans don't like pacing: ( Why do you think we don't get a lot of the jap rpg's. and get all this Halo, and god or war crap.
What makes you play an RPG more than once?
That's a good question, well my fav rpg would either be earthbound or ff8, and I have beaten those games many time's. I can't really give you one thing about them that made me want to play them again. only to say that there stories are very well done.
And it brings back childhood memories. But I will say that I hate multiple endings.
Because I want to be able to experience everything that's in the game the first time around and not feel like I missed something, or should have done that this way, and to me that's kind of a cop out. Think about it, if you allow the player to decide which way the story is gonna go, then that tells me the developer does not know how to create a great story, and instead is going to let me decide. maybe it's just me but I hate that.
