Illustrator with a weird obsession with RPG style games, specifically SNES style RPGS or PlayStation style RPG's. If it wasn't for DND, there wouldn't be any of them!!! A lot of my games and the like, are Final Fantasy inspired, though I do draw experience from playing other games, and just life in general. I go by thedarkdreamer and ZENWARE. Though my main profession is in illustration, I have gotten very high GPA both in high school and art college. I was going for the style and works of higher children's books or comic books, though I haven't made a lot of progress with that because of...

I have also published two books, The Dogs of Narberth, and The Rescue Pups, and a third book is coming out soon. I do write.
I have only "officially" made two games but they weren't great. I have been working on Twisted Fate for a long time though. I don't know why I'm stuck on this. I guess because 'that' was 'really' my ACTUAL first "game". But life.

I'm doing a bunch at once, though I feel like I do one for a bit then go to another one, then that same kinda thing happens. Though now, I'm trying to do FINAL FATE (which is an old one), The Adventures of Dyluck (aka me hahah), and an obscure one based off a game I was doing called IN DREAMS I "CRESCENDO", based off "THE DARK DREAMERS". I basically set myself up for one, then I get tired or distracted and head onto another one. I hate this really.

[RM2K3] Maniacs Help
Recently I had downloaded the maniacs patch for rm2k3 and it is....really nice. Like whoah. New functions and sick things. Though I have questions about it. Because I have no idea what some of the features can DO or achieve.
Like if I wanted messages for attack buffs and that, would I have to make a common event that references that, then having eventing in battles?
are there more saves now? how would that work? looks like there is a 'global save' function now. whatever that means. I kinda remember posting something on having more saves in rm2k3 months ago.
Not clueless though. Very curious. May update this Q&A later.

[RM2K] Different messages for death states (Bosses, etc)
So I was messing around with states in RPG Maker. Ok. Great story man. Well, one thing about old school games like Dragon Quest, and Earthbound, is that they have unique messages for when bosses are defeated for a death state. Though my question is: can RPG Maker 2000 do that?
The answer is, perhaps.
I copied the (Death) state into a blank state. Though in a test, I made a condition in battle, when an enemies' HP is 0, add the (new) death state. Though unfortunately, that didn't work. :/
I dunno, if there's any workarounds with this. It would be cool, if for defeating a boss, the message could theoretically say something like "The Great Dragon was utterly defeated", or something like that. Or even for more challenging enemies, quirky enemies, or that sort of thing. That's a very Earthbound thing. Is there a work around to that question? I am a pup, with many questions about these things. Hopefully I'm not really annoying anyone. Thanks again for anyone who has input. Wind bless RMN for existing. Lol

[RM2K] (Value) Replace Existing Two Fonts
I'm using RPG Maker Value 2k for a game I'm doing and I don't know if this is possible, but is there any way to replace the two existing fonts without the entire game glitching and spitting out an error message? I've tried using the font patch on a "test project" and the game seems to screw up when you start to scroll through items, skills, and that sort of thing. Have people made a font patch version for RPG Maker Value, or people don't care anymore? Just curious. I guess it was easier with the Don Miguel RPG Maker and the first RPG Maker ever. Ever.

is there any way to get rid of that stupid autobattle feature in RM2k and RM2k3
It defeats the purpose of even playing an rpg maker game and it's stupid
It's not like in dragon quest where you can command everyone to attack or cast
It's dumbed down to stupid level

[RM2K3] [RM2K] More RTP Battle Character Sets
I dunno on this but
Has anyone attempted to make Battle Character Sets of the entire RTP for 2000 and 2003? Like the people sets, even the monster sets. Or even the Crown sets :O Oh Don! I know they were supposed to be NPC's but...why hasn't there been sets of them? I did two myself, an angel, and the blue haired male character, though they are edits of existing Battle Character Sets...



The angel just doesn't really have wings D: It's tricky making wings look right with PS.
I was searching on Google but not much luck. It would be kinda cool. I was thinking of redoing a game in RPG 2003 though the characters in the original game weren't the main hero sprites D:

[RM2K3] [RM2K] A Tales of Worlds New Menu Idea, Need Help.

ANYWAY, here is a new topic, and it's something that just kinda came to me. So I started playing Tales of Worlds, which is pretty good, a strange story nonetheless though I am doing an edit and improved version, where I am trying to up the game's quality to awesome level! Like tons of new animations to get rid of old animations built into most RPG Maker games. I do this because...well no one really knows why. Because I'm nice, and I'm a cool guy. It's kinda like in school when you get your homework back and your teacher gives you an A and you really wanted an A+. I guess. Hahah.
But anyway, Tales, has a system menu that pulls up a message, and has three choices in the message: Command, System, and Tutorials. Though I kinda had an interesting idea instead of the message, there would be a picture menu where you can select commands via a (LOOP?) so there would be a nice looking picture menu with three selections. Though, dunno how to do. In the events, the event is a parallel process, and there's a lot of labels in the event. Though I would also want to change the look of the menu if the system is colored red, green, or blue, so switches too. :O Kinda complex for something so simple. Any pointers on where to go with this? Thanks all!

[RM2K3] Dynplugins and failure messages Miss, Fail, and more troubleshooting
I dunno if anyone has noticed this in the game Everlong, but how did the creator with the DYN Plugins get other "failure" messages to appear? He somehow got Miss and Fail to appear with some plugins that I can't figure out how he's doing it. That was a thing, in RM2k3, where you could only type one message for "Miss". I am confused how that was done. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? 0_0

[RM2K3] [RM2K] Boots that resist hot sands problem

So I have an idea for an item that are called the Tundra Boots: they raise both INT and AGI, and protect against burning and fire damage. Though I'm trying to not use the negate terrain damage function: you would have to be wearing them in order to protect yourself against firy sands! This is in RM2k. I made an event, that has the following for each character that is a player touch below hero event:
Conditional Branch, (Character) has (Tundra Boots) equipped
@>
:Else,
@>Play SE: Fire2
@>Flash Screen (R031, G024, B000, V020) @1.0s
Change HP: Entire Party, -5
In theory this would make it that when the character has the boots equipped, no damage from the event is taken, otherwise, it'll play a sound, flash the screen, and change parties' HP. But even when the item is equipped it is still damaging the party. I am confused. Why. Just why. Dunno what I'm doing wrong. Need some help!

Maybe a set from Lufia 2 with the towers in Lufia 2. Help wanted. No shoes no service lol just kidding
