Thinking about making my own game, might have to make it by myself.
I can't tell if you're just nervous, or if you're hoping that a full team will go "oh, poor thing" and assemble around you.
No one starts out good at what they're trying to do. The only remedy to that is to do it anyway. Practice, dig? You're not going to improve just by talking about how bad you are. It's immensely discouraging at first, but as long as you keep an eye out for your mistakes every single thing you do will make you better at it.

Early mornings suck, but at least Microsoft provided breakfast. Long day ahead!

the joke is on him, microsoft's breakfasts are reconstituted from old RAM chips and copies of windows 3.1

I think people have requested earlier in the thread that people not vote for their own games. I'm not sure if the staff have a way of making sure, but odds are they have something in place.

Should Fanon(fan-made) type games get their own special search request?
As I said before, where any one person draws the fangame line matters about as much as where any one person draws the line for any other genre or style -- that is, not at all. If you consider your game an action adventure RPG, go hogwild and tag it as one. If you think your game's a fangame, then go ahead with that, too. It's all subjective, so I don't think we need to put down any hard rules about what is and isn't x.
You're right. Why tag anything?
Necessary or not, this forum does have a system for tagging a game with certain genres and flavours and a search system that draws from it. It's just good practice to make it as comprehensive as you can, and enough people seem to deal in fangames that it wouldn't be a waste.
However, why the sudden need to tag these games is beyond me. Either play it or don't.
