have we seriously not outgrown the 'um WHAT' reaction when somebody says that they aren't familiar with something
like, everyone has to hear about something for a first time! c'mon now
e: Cromartie is also really good? I've only seen a few episodes but I think I should study its timing sometime. it pulls off the pairing of absurd humour and serious, stone-faced characters very well!

New guy here! This place is pretty cool.
the mother series is so good tbh + I basically always love to see people take cues from it??? there's a lot of weird quality-of-life stuff in it that you still don't really see in games, in spite of a lot of Earthbound and Mother 3 being super janky in other places

author=KylailaI've heard a lot of good stuff about Baccano! and DRRR, actually -- I'll have to add them to the list too.
Paranoia Agent.Black Rock Shooter, Baccano! and Mushishi are all pretty damn good in my book, too.
Gintama is great for comedy .. if you can get into it. It can be borderline stupid.
If you want to know why.. tell me. I'll ramble a lot *chuckle*
oh, and Cowboy Bebop. I've only seen a little so far, but I really enjoy the stylish, everyday-life approach they have to the sci-fi setting -- it feels like it's something that people actually live in, and it's weirdly idyllic in spite of taking place in a setting with space travel.

I'm really bad about actually consuming media, but I've been meaning to look into Revolutionary Girl Utena and Paranoia Agent for a long time now. they seem like they fit my whole sort of deal, to put it vaguely!
