sleep don't pacify us until
daybreak sky lights up the grid we live in
dizzy when we talk so fast
fields of numbers streamin' past

Star Citizen allegedly going bankrupt, development mired by turnover, racism, sexism
this is a huge old thread I'm not reading in full but honestly the escapist deserves all the ad hominem people can throw at it right now
What are you thinking about right now?
I've heard it said that men who use emoticons in their texts and IMs are far less likely to be looked upon by ladies as potential dates.

i'm quite pleased! i got my father a squatty potty.
I've never really understood the practice of spite-gifts but this is a pretty good one
What do you think of Texans?
a texan appeared by the side of the road while I was driving last night. his eyes were a pale, luminous yellow and as he beckoned my car radio began to flicker and sputter. I gunned the engine and stopped at the next gas station to grab a coffee and collect my thoughts, and found that my rear bumper had been seared and warped as though by some great heat
Let's Talk Bloodborne
the new weapons look cooler by far than anything in the base game, where the Switch Axe and Ludwig's Holy Blade seem to be the main things people use. I'm happy to hear that someone's getting some use out of the Threaded Cane -- I like the look of that weapon a lot, but Skill weapons in general seem to be neglected by people most of the time.
mechanically, I like the sound of Bloodborne better than the Souls games -- while the whole exploration thing was excellent (and remains excellent in Bloodborne, apparently) the dominant strategy Souls was just to take things as slow as possible, or else to get familiar with enemy placement through repeated deaths. I'm still not 100% on the die-reload-die-reload model of games like Bloodborne or Dark Souls, since the difficulty has never been part of the draw for me, but Bloodborne at least seems like it's got some more stuff in it to help people come back from a mistake.
there are a couple things in it that I've been disappointed with, but I can't really talk about it here because of spoilers. I will say that the, uh, stuff that begins being seen toward the latter half of the game is much more well-designed than most other stuff in that genre -- I've always kind of rolled my eyes at that sort of aesthetic because it's usually done in a very predictable way, but the monster design and the surrounding justifications feel far more unique and interesting than the usual.
just, like, fewer people going arbitrarily insane please? I had the same problem with Dark Souls 2, where it just seems to happen at random for no reason but to add some pathos about characters you haven't been given an opportunity to learn about in the first place.
I should mention I've only been watching LPs and stuff, though! I don't have a PS4 and won't be picking one up for a while, so most of what I have to say about this game is down to the aesthetic and the writing,

I rarely look at the taglines, but I can understand how coming off as too self-referential could turn people away, or make the community look a little bit tough to get into.
