What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
yeah, vacation time was always one of the most frustrating things to coordinate. Kairosoft makes a lot of simulator games in the same vein as Game Dev Tycoon, but employee fatigue is even harder to pin down in those ones as, being a phone game, the UI is a little more minimal. I really wanted to get into Game Dev Story as a small thing to play during breaks, but I wound up getting too frustrated with these hidden elements.
or maybe I'm just missing something! who knows

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Game Dev Tycoon is bizarrely fun and I have no idea why
my one big complaint is that the events in the world are very static and mirror the real-world history of games closely, so you always know to back Not-Nintendo over Not-Sega (for instance), but I'm sure there's probably mods to extend the campaign and reshuffle things by this point?

How did your first game turn out?
I never did the whole 'middle school binders full of lore and mechanics' thing, and I understand why it'd be embarrassing to look back on, but tbh I love it? I love people getting so earnestly into the concept of something even when the means of putting it to use are still out of reach
who knows, maybe Tiny Third-Grade Charblar even had some neat ideas worth revisiting
e: okay in high school I did draw a lot of awful meandering conceptual stuff + then a lot of nonsense surrounding the stuff to take away from the fact that it was terrible, though
I even saved some of it!

Garlic and mashed potatoes do not mix.
if you don't like garlic, I'll gladly take your cosmic share
it's a very good all-purpose spice for savoury things, and a method of being rude to vampires

author=Gleasonauthor=mawkI always figured it was for "Vista/XP" since those were the two most recent Windows OS available at the time of VX release.
'mobile version' seems like the best bet, but to be honest with you I'm still trying to figure out 'VX'
oh christ that's actually the perfect explanation

Anyone have any favorite films, they would like to discuss?
Castle in the Sky is really nice. Miyazaki is always amazing with cozy, idyllic details, and I think out of most of his films Castle and Porco Rosso show that off the best -- hell, it's because of Castle in the Sky that a fried egg on a slice of toast has come to be widely dubbed 'Laputa bread'. and what a name, yeah?
also Dola is basically my favourite character archetype. grumpy hypercapable pirate grandma with a heart of gold!
I don't know if I even have a favourite, but I could gush about Ghibli films forever, basically.

e: also, it might sound a little boring on paper but increasing database caps is one of those big 'can't hurt, might help' things that someone could easily have a use for sooner or later. it's pretty clear that one of their goals with MV is to create an engine as versatile and multifunctional as possible in a field where engines like UE4 and Cryengine are growing more accessible to hobbyists, and I feel like a lot of the 'boring' backend stuff is there to ensure nobody runs into a wall with MV and switches to a competitor's product.
