All that most maddens and torments; all that stirs up the lees of things; all truth with malice in it; all that cracks the sinews and cakes the brain; all the subtle demonisms of life and thought; all evil, to crazy Ahab, were visibly personified, and made practically assailable in Moby-Dick. He piled upon the whale's white hump the sum of all the general rage and hate felt by his whole race from Adam down; and then, as if his chest had been a mortar, he burst his hot heart's shell upon it.

Would you even be able to talk to people outside of your friend-group if you weren't allowed to use irony? It must be hard, being so weak willed that you can't have a normal conversation without resorting to belittling whoever you're talking to. I'm sure it feels nice to respond to any criticism with irony for the moment, but how will you ever grow from your preteen mindset if you can't have a normal discussion with someone who shares most of your opinions?

Please, go ahead and respond with some sarcasm or irony. Or just do what you people seem to do every time the conversation doesn't go your way, go throw shit behind the involved peoples backs, while screaming like babies that you're never coming back here again. See you next week.

does it count as sarcasm or irony if I just keep making small token posts like this one to see how long you can keep torturously contorting your own body into an angry pretzel

you aren't aren't good person though

so in my eyes you are a monster

ahahaha holy shit

by my reports you continue to drop my name, in allusion or otherwise, to talk about what a shame it was that you were called out for transphobic shit and had to write an unconvincing apology to someone who didn't want to talk to you. the only purpose of that post was to set the record straight, since in my absence the telling has grown the tale greatly. I'd appreciate you keeping me off your tongue if I'm only going to be some scary monster you pile all the sins of the world onto.

as far as the tone on slack goes, the establishment of boundaries is a necessary part of creating any sort of community that isn't just 30-somethings clinging to antique imageboard culture. some people aren't going to fit, because they don't think people should criticize games on social issues, or equate gun ownership with marginalized status, or whatever, and I'm fine with that. we have a fairly good userbase discussing a pretty broad variety of things in a pretty upbeat way, and discussions are organic and interesting.

I'm very shocked to hear that I've lost the privilege of your respect, SnowOwl, and you can rest assured that I'll work to conduct myself in such a way that might one day bring me back into your good graces.

the private channel thing is news to me, though. you sure the stories aren't outgrowing their subject?

What are you thinking about right now?

figures that Infection is only willing to engage with the subject of me when I'm not in the room, huh

for the record, I'm always up to talk if you're willing. I think what you'd prefer is someone you can blame in their absence, though.

anyway suffice it to say that I could not be happier that the slack does not reflect this community like it used to

and if it does indeed become the big critical trans jamboree you all seem to be fearing then all the better, because in spite of your increasingly shaky assertions that all problems are in the eye of the beholder, there's a reason this forum has been losing members of marginalized groups left and right and holding onto an intensely conservative core

e: also pom gets wifi was made nearly three years ago and you all still get mad about it? and wonder why people like the creator, who made a quick weird game for fun and got made a pariah for its popularity, don't show up as much anymore?

I came here because I heard people were pissing and moaning none-too-subtly about my existence on slack (which, Infection, before you act all aggrieved at me please remember that my big issue with you was when you kept doing transphobic shit because you didn't like what I was saying), but stayed because of yet another big self-important speech from a shovelware developer with more gossamer-thin pride than his work could possibly merit

it is the easiest and laziest thing in the world to meet criticism or disagreement and just go 'oh well obviously that other person is just crazy'

this applies to both the subjects I am addressing in this post

Wow, the official RPG Maker site forum rules are..... wow!

this has already been mentioned by other people in the thread, but it does bear repeating that these are two forums with fairly different purposes and backgrounds. an official forum, representing the public image of a company and the link between it and its customers, is naturally going to have things locked down a bit more tightly. RMN is very loose by comparison, but that's because the idea here is that it's just an extended group of friends and enthusiasts.
