And I love how everyone is saying only half will submit. Part of me wants to see all of them submit something and watch what the judges do...

This will be the single stumbling block teams will run into. Second will be time. I wonder when the first team will announce they're bowing out ... I'm gonna guess it will be a team of one realizing they can't submit something in time because of real-life issues getting in the way.

Well, unfortunately for me, my team of 4 seems to be going that way. I'm gonna do a solo version of it as best I can just in case. Probably won't be as good because I can't do any of the stuff we discussed that require scripts because of the limitations of the "Lite" version of RPG Maker VX Ace, but I'll do my best anyway.

I´m sorry to hear that cadh! Doing the best is all that you can ask of yourself ...
Lol! Well, what can you expect when the team is composed of 1 high-school kid, 2 college kids, and only 1 adult with guaranteed time to work on it?

I hope you're the responsible adult ...
Yes, but unfortunately I'm also the only team member with the Lite version instead of the full program! :p

May I suggest you download the Ace trial, which ought to get you through the event, timewise (BTW, you get 30 days)?

I've been sick, dealing with car issues, and so on, so if you needed to get to me with something or want to bug me about anything, please drop me a message.
This is my second game contest thing I've done, but a lot more lenient, as the one I did earlier this year was Ludum Dare. I'm taking what I learned from that experience and working on a project I have a lot of ideas for and implementing, but I also could cut short any time and conclude it. Basically get as much done as I can, and then when the final week approaches focus on ending it off.

Actually I've only worked on the game three days so far, but I am impressed how much has been done in those three days. Did a lot of spriting, have original music already finished (22 songs are original, 1 was composed by myself and used in a previous project of mine but I'm re-using, and four are free-to-use songs from the internet). Done a lot of spriting, and so far have gotten more maps done than I expected.

But totally, COMPLETELY rushing it. Just a few unintended glitches and side effects.

But nothing to really worry about.

I'am also a high-school kid but I do homework at school during free time anyway to add extra time on the game.
The mapping is almost complete, I just need to work on bedrooms, basement, pool, etc... at such. And look like I have extra time to work on another one also.

For some since Pokemon X and Y and some other awesome commercial games is release I don't think there will be only half will submit. Maybe 1/4 of it now.
Well I only get commercial game if it get free anyway. And that 100$ Steam credit really going to be useful for me. On getting a lot of game during sales.(Yeah I don't buy if a particular distribution site always get sales.

Luckily university is a massive doss so I have all the time in the world. Alas, all this talk of Pokemon X and Y is making me really sad I don't own it...
I'm also in the not making a horror game camp. I don't really know the first thing about that genre because I'm just not a fan.

Based on the work yesterday, I'd say the scope of our game is actually closer to a two-week project than a month project. It means could be more impressive than it's going to be, but at least we should have no problem finishing. Plus lots of time for testing and polishing.
Things on my end are getting a little out of hands. But I could pull a couple all nighters if needed.

We absolutely must finish this now.

Well I also hope that I will win a digital copy of the game. Since I already got all 24 codes. But it will take 1 in a million to win it anyway.
