Got Omega Ruby for Christmas, along with Minish Cap, a Gameboy Advanced to play it on, and some headphones!

Tis a great Christmas indeed. Our grandmother stayed over on the Eve and we ate a nice breakfast with everybody; Kielbasa, butter-toast and scrambled eggs!
Now everyone's split up and are playing the games they got! Myself included!

Nice Pizza! I had a pretty good Christmas myself.

Got some really cool stuff and some money! Whooooo food!

I would LOVE to use this type of music as the soundtrack for an RPG. It would make my life. Who knows, maybe one day I'll manage to pull it together.

In other news, I've recently been pondering on the often unfair treatment of rats (and indeed rodents in general sometimes) in works of fiction and in language over the years. I'm tired of the cliched method of using rat as a label for someone conniving, dirty, unlawful, weak, etc. In animated movies they're always played as villains, or characters you're supposed to be put off by. The only example I can cite of "rats" being painted in a positive light is FF9, and even then that's a story about them being almost utterly obliterated on a global scale and then immediately kicked out of the plot.

Before anyone says it, yes, I get that I am stressing the negatives. But it bothers me so very much.

All I can think to do is to begin giving them (and other specific types of anthros) a more prominent place in my own works. I want to express to people that there's an entire world of characters which don't get the fair credit they deserve, being relegated to kiddy bullshit, which is apparently the "appropriate" place for such things.

I need to do a lot more thinking before I can really get in depth with the issue. But I'm beginning to realize that fairly representing these characters is truthfully crucially important in my artistic work.

There's also the Redwall series by Brian Jacques.

On a side note, I've noticed how you're pretty hard-set on this rat thing, so I have to ask: is there a perception thing going on here? Like, do you see yourself as a rat/part rat/spiritually a rat? When it was just Freya, I got it as she was also my favorite character from FF9, but there seems to be a real prominence with rats in general with you.

Ugh, I'm glad Christmas is over. It was worse than I could have possibly imagined. Everybody in my family hates each other, Grandma was flipping out because one of my cousins unfriended her on Facebook and she couldn't see pictures of the baby anymore. One of my uncles didn't know who I was and thought I was said cousin's boyfriend and the babydaddy. Grandma... after 21 years... still can't spell my name right. During dinner, my cheap plastic fork shattered and flipped my plate onto my lap. My aunt was constantly reminding us that things like "the Pearl Harbor War" aren't important and don't need to be taught in schools--we need to focus on nutrition, healthy living, and shit like that. Also, she wouldn't eat the cookies because the eggs weren't from free roaming chickens. My mom was (understandably) drinking wine straight from the bottle. My sister was bitching about everyone (Aunt Suzanne didn't start making her turkey breast until 3:00!) and her dogs were running around barking and stirring up allergies. I wound up sitting all by myself in a corner with my 3DS. FML.

If anybody is in need of a cute new addition to their family, I'm already potty trained, employed, and have nice hair.

On the bright side, I did get some nice loot. Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker, Assassin's Creed Unity, some new clothes, a ton of hot chocolate, a nice new razor (which I'll definitely use if I ever grow facial hair), all sorts of glorious dark chocolate, etc.

Yeah, say goodbye to 100 hours of your life. XD I've played for like 70 hours and I still have a ton left to do.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas; I sure did.

DEFINITE improvement from last year; got next to nothing then and fought with my sister, which kinda ruined it. This year was pretty much completely peaceful and I got plenty (PS3/bunch of games/SHITload of food/pretty much all the clothes I wanted/etc), though unfortunately a large portion of our family couldn't be here with us.

Oh well, still had a great time!

I guess I should say, I got a variety pack of Mexican hot sauces.
