against society's sigmas
Haha! Did I really type "sigmas"? I guess this is my subconscious telling me to play the Mega Man X series again. =P

I kept telling her she doesn't need to spend money on me.
This is something you should never have said to a girl...
author=alteregoI was kinda disappointed they didn't bring sigma back for the sequels, instead they chose an expy of dr wily (dr weil). And i didn't like him that much.

I watch game grumps for the reasons Pizza mentioned, and Arin and the other one form quite an appealing double act despite my grievances with each one of them.

author=Mirakauthor=DudesoftYou could remind her it is YOUR birthday and not hers? Shit, my ex used to do that shit to me too. She would make plans for my birthday as if there was nothing i personally wanted to do for that day.
Tomorrow's my birthday, and my gf is pissed at me for ruining her plans for me.
I kept telling her she doesn't need to spend money on me. Eventually she decided to not. Now, she is angry. Tomorrow is going to suck.
I'd appreciate it if someone respected my space enough to ask me if throwing a field trip on my birthday was something I'd be interested in, or at the very least gauged my reaction some time in advance and perhaps got the memo. You really can't force someone to have a good time.
If they say "I just wanted to do something special for you. >:(", respond "And I just wanted to do something special with* you." Regardless of whether or not that special something is really all that special, they should be able to understand that you're not blowing them off, just that being together and sharing a warm dinner on a cold winter's night is more your speed.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DUDE!

Coincidentally, tomorrow (assuming we're talking Friday) is also my aunt's birthday (or at the very least the day we're coming together for dinner). We're having lasagna and frankly, I can't wait.
*You are a couple, after all. Big decisions should be cleared by both parties. No one takes the lead and runs with it; that way madness lies.

I never really cared much for the X series, mainly because it wasn't Mega Man saving the world from Dr.W (seeing his logo at the end of every stage really set him up as a menacing figure as a child), but some other robot named X saving the world from Duke Nukem (his sprite reminds me of a bulky crash test dummy).
Where Sigma was a walking weapon, Dr. Wily was a frail old man who used his smarts and access to machinery to conquer the world. And just when you thought he was locked away for good, he somehow manages to escape to scheme another day.
When 9 came along and I saw Dr. Wily on the box art, it almost made him look like he had died but his corpse was being preserved by machines, turning him into an automaton that - even in death - still schemed to conquer the world, and that's just metal as fuck, dude.

Sigma at this point is more like a demon who comes back in one way or another no matter how many times you beat him, but Wily is a little bit more creative, I agree.
I like both series, though I admit the X series kind of ran itself into the ground towards the end. The later games didn't feel as edgy and competently designed as the earlier ones.

What do you have against Jews?
I said "each one of them", so i was including Arin, so no, no anti-semitism from me.
What makes me uncomfortable about sexbang is how much of a 'yes man' he is. He rarely, if ever, seems to have personal thoughts or desires or confrontational opinions about the game they're playing, he bows down to everything Arin says and the show suffers from it sometimes. One of the highlights of the Jon era was that there were actual discussions with opposing points of view that led to fun and beautiful moments, it's not as fun when a debate consists of one person arguing and the other going "you're absolutely right" all the time even when that guy doesn't really share Arin's opinion.
Also a minor thing, that wind waker episode where things got super akward because he started talking about some serious, not fun shit that happened to him? What the fuck kind of tone were they trying to set up in their comedy show? I felt super shitty afterwards. Not fun.
And Arin? Man i love the guy but he's a fucking idiot sometimes. He's supposed to be "Grump", not "Asshole". The way he treats his co-hosts sometimes is appalling, and what really ticks me off sometimes is when he complains that he doesn't know what to do in a game when the game is fucking giving him directions that he fucking skips and never reads, then spends 15 minutes blaming and calling the game shitty because of that, and then we get three or four episodes of him faffing about aimlessly trying to progress until they decide to use a walkthrough and then they're like "OOOOOOOOOH SO THAT'S WHAT WE HAD TO DO OKAY".
I still watch the show because there's lots to enjoy, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have it's shitty moments.
Also susy? pls go.

I find Dan really brings a lot to the show. Someone who's open to being both silly and comforting; a welcome juxtaposition to Arin's chaotic and loud nature. This is a man with experience who has come from very little and has realized that there's a time and a place for anger and feels, but you need to feel good about yourself first before going completely off the deep end if you want someone to like you.
He had to take a lot of flak for being the new guy (one person said he should go die in a barn fire) after Jon helped establish what Game Grumps was all about, and yet he's such a cool dude that, frankly, if Jon stuck around, I doubt Game Grumps would still be a thing today. Don't get me wrong, the year that Jon was on was a time of magic and many laughs, but looking back, you could really see when things got stale and how you can't keep a guy like Jon going for too long before he sputters out.
I dunno, man, I just have mad respect for the dude and what he's about. He's gone clean and he seems like a real people's person. When he talked about his bar mitzvah and reading the Torah while his grandfather who survived the Holocaust sat proudly in his chair, or how he fought with OCD and decided one day to just say "fuck it" and toss his pills overboard regardless of what might happen, and even how you can tell that the deaths of some of his friends has made him more open and warm, it really spoke to me and at times I even got a little choked up. He's the kind of guy that I want to be.

How he is as a person and how he is as an entertainer are different things. My discomfort comes from his usual behavior when playing videogames in a show about playing videogames on the internet, not because of who he is or what he has done with his life.
I've heard the songs he has produced, some of them are quite nice.
Do i hate him? Absolutely not. Does his 'yes man' attitude bother me? Specially when Arin is treating him like shit or plain doesn't listen to his advice? Fucking yes. I get he mentioned once that he acts like a doormat because he appreciates his friends and never wants to argue with them but that bothers me on a personal level. It just does. It doesn't feel healthy it doesn't feel right, and it's a niggling little thought that springs in the back of my head everytime Arin insults him and he basically goes "ok".
Also i never contributed to the outrage when he came to the show because i didn't feel any. I felt sad that jon had left, but jon had made that video explaining why he was leaving and that was enough closure for me. As i said, the show has a lot of things to enjoy. I just get bothered by some of the things that don't feel quite right.
by the way i took my meds an hour ago so if what i'm saying is incomprehensible then i apologize in advance but it's hard to think straight when you're on valium, lorazepam and whatever else they pumped me with.

What i found funny was that one youtube comment with the conspiracy theory of susy being the yoko ono of gamegrumps, that was quite an entertaining read. I dislike susy as an entertainer because she has never made me laugh. Not even once. Even Barry has made me chortle a few times.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

Wait... When did I break 2000 MS?
It must be that 4.5 rating Myriad Cypher has.
Now I feel even more terrible about how little work I was able to put into it during the McBacon Jam... :/

Hot damn! I'm lovin' it. :)
Apollo Justice was surprisingly short for an ace attorney game.
The gameplay was lenghtened by that bullshit bracelet thing that gave no clues to when to use it but other than that i didn't feel quite as challenged as with other games in the series.
Now i'm playing the Miles Edgeworth game. It is certainly different but hey, more edgeworth and gumshoe!

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I get what you're saying, but the general consensus among LPers seems to be that stopping to read things makes for a very unpopular and boring show. This seems to especially be true when the show is about their personalities instead of about the games, like Game Grumps for example. And Arin's method certainly gets through a game several times as fast, despite the fact that he occasionally gets lost.
Sometimes I prefer to watch a very different kind of LP show like Extra Play, where they stop and pay very close attention to the game, and talk almost exclusively about the game, and analyze it in detail. However, if you choose to watch Game Grumps instead, don't complain that you're watching Game Grumps instead.

I've had a four day "weekend" from my job this past week, and while it's nice, breaks make me rusty so I feel like it's time for me to go back. I'd also like to know if my direct deposit form went through or if I need to continue picking up physical checks.
There's only so much pressure that ... a big company can withstand. If you were at the receiving end of that kind of pressure you'd probably understand.
I admit the social coercion never stopped some game companies from doing what they wanted, but there is always those few that make me scratch my head whether it is just about money or another reason. And speaking of youtube stuff. I always wanted to do a video game review of import games as a way to make a side-living like some of the youtube guys that do similar stuff. I definitely want unknown Japanese games to make more of a presence, and a chance for interest to build back up.
