It's your book, so why shouldn't you write in it?
In highschool we had certain books that weren't school-owned. See, since we had a choice in electives as of Year 9, there'd be a bunch of different books that would be required. Sometimes novels for English changed each year, so it didn't make sense for the school to keep copies of them (though they did have a few on hand for those who forgot to bring them). That said, our school fees were about 2-300 per year, and the books were included in that cost. Yes, Australian highschool is good like that (better than private school costs here).
Usually you could sell your books back at the end of the year (at a reduced cost). Also, we were actually encouraged to write in the books because they were better for others the next year.
Either that, or they're written by the college professors who require you to pay a ridiculous amount to have it on hand before never using it that year (because, hey, the actual person who wrote it is teaching the class so why would you need to refer to a book when you have the writer right fucking there?!)

Camping is fun I guess? Lots of people think so! I don't, the beautiful sunrises don't do enough to make me stop thinking about how uncomfortable i slept, or how much i hate eating sardines straight out of a can. The campfire was fun. Well, I enjoy it; but this camping trip is going to be hell.
Mostly because I am an idiot, but also because I plan to just water fast for an entire month, and play video games.

That moment when you're trying to recreate a map based on an actual location in Unity and you realize that because you paid attention in high school, you actually know how to read a topographical map.
I've been trying to de-emphasize my online life as of late. Closed my main twitter a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to spend significantly less time online in general.
I remember back when the internet was your escape from real life. But I never thought I'd live to see a time when real life is your escape from the internet.

It's worse, actually. The college paid interns a small fee to look up relevant articles on the internet and make a text book out of them and then slapped your professor's name on it to legitimize the resulting book. In several cases, they've actually sued the websites they stole from for plagiarism just keep up the facade.

It feels like it's more or less impossible in my case. I don't think I could bare it, even though I know that in 3 years it would just feel like a distant dream.
Feels like I would be essentially killing myself, which I have never been able to do. May need to talk to her some more, I would like my gf to find a boyfriend; especially if I plan to transition.

As a Christian, I curse all the time. Ain't no fucking issue. God says don't disrespect your parents, not don't curse your face off if you want. :shrug:
