Awesome dude. Hope you update soon.
wow, that's a pretty big update. I quite enjoyed playing FFIV years ago and the final boss of the game is pretty damn hard to beat. I wish you luck in finishing this.

Discussion: Into the Darkness is the best FF theme ever. Yes or yes?
For references, this is Into the Darkness

Yeah, that's surprisingly one of the best dungeon themes I've ever heard. Final Fantasy IV music is memorable because it fits the 'Old School Epic RPG' theme to a tee, and so much of it is so good in it's own right it's easy to see why it's constantly remixed and such.

HEY GUYS THIS IS A DISCUSSION KEEP IT GOING/CHANGE THE SUBJECT/TALK ABOUT SOMETHING UNTIL I POST THE NEXT UPDATE.
OMG Feld, way too much time on your hands! Seriously though, this game kicks ass.

I actually just bought FF3 for ds, kinda neat with the 3d graphics.

I would do a "let's play" of it, but I'm not taking pictures of my DS with a camera, that would just be terrible.
By the way, I think I've said this before, but I can only update after a certain amount of posts, so if you want this to go on, discuss/post!
No. Don't do that. By post, I mean SOMETHING SUBSTANTIAL/SIGNIFICANT.

Can someone please delete that mess?

Apologies. As for something significant, what game do you intend to do after this LP?
I suggest you do a Chrono Trigger let's play after this. :)
Into The Darkness is a very sweet song. Have any of you heard of the arrange album called "Final Fantasy Celtic Moon?" It's an arrangement of a bunch of the tracks in FFIV to make it sound more... well, Celtic. Medieval. Whatever you want to call it. It's got, like, fiddle, flute, etc. There are some pretty good arrangements in it, and Into The Darkness is one of them. Of course, it doesn't have any of the battle themes, but... It's still a pretty bitchin' album, I think.

Also, Cagnazzo in the DS version is a bitch. Because he's weak to Blizzard when he doesn't have his water shield up and weak to Thunder when it is, but he ABSORBS Blizzard with it up. Meaning if someone's charging a Blizzard spell and he puts that thing up, that fight's going to go on for a while (like it did for me, because I like causing max damage all the time, rather than doing normal damage and max damage every once in a while).
Is that the one that makes it sound really evil? If so, I agree, that was a pretty bad-ass arrangement and album.

The boss battle music is pretty much ruined for me though. One day, I thought to myself what it would look like if that was being played for a really intense session of salsa, and now when I hear it, that's all I see.
It's alive! It's alive!! IT'S ALIVE!!!

Glad that you're back on the move with this, Feld! Finally a bit more of something to read. You're pretty far along, too.

When I think about it, IV is a pretty short game. I dunno, but it seems that once you defeat Cagnazzo everything seems to fly by! Next thing you know your on the moon.

The Four Elemental Fiends battle is easier on the GBA than it is on the SNES, though, IMO.

And on the topic of the boss much: It's awesome. It's made of pure concentrated win. So much, in fact, that it makes my eyes water when I hear it. =O
Finally, some discussion. I mean, damn.

I hear the entire game on the DS version is a horrible, horrible experient in masochism in terms of difficulty. I hear that it's one of the most difficult RPGs ever. I haven't played it yet, though, I'd like to get the chance.

IV is a relatively short game. I dunno though, it's a 'short but good' gems, where the story is told, the game is played, and you walk away with a good feeling afterwards. It has a storybook feeling to it all and it wraps itself up quite nicely.

However, I maintain that Final Fantasy 6 has the most style and swagger of all the games in the entire series.

I maintain that XII has the most meat in its gameplay.
I like no #4 and #5, but i never got around to beating the sixth game (or anywhere close to it) but I maintain, like the standard fanboy I am, that the 7th game is one of the greatest games of all time. And that the tenth game sucked ass.

This is untrue. It is very challenging but very fair. There are some boss fights that are grueling and epic - one battle comes to mind where Cecil was my only party member alive and he was defending and using counter-attack every round and I only won because of a critical hit - but if you pay attention and explore all tactical decisions available to you, you will do fine. This is the kind of game where you need to try and cast Slow or Silence on a boss or something because it might actually work.

No, This Final Fantasy Game sucked ass.

Give me a break there is no such thing as a bad Final Fantasy game. The worst Final Fantasy game you have played is probably a lot better than nearly any other contemporary RPG.

Even Final Fantasy II?
