I think this is a fun proposal and may result in some amusing near-wins. Don't have a problem with it if you make LockeZ's suggested change.

What happens if a player does not say Nomic and no one notices that said player should win and the proposal goes through? Is the proposal retroactively redacted when someone does notice it?

That's a good point; by the letter of the rule as written simply failing to type/say Nomic in the post will result in the win no longer being valid.
Possibly amend it to say that at least one player must point it out before the game is declared won?

I agree that this makes the proposal more digestible. Maybe if we progress to the next turn with no one pointing it out, then the winner pointing it out would be a good measure.
I would also like to see a stipulation about NOMIC being required to be in an uneditted post. Since under current stipulation the new rule would allow for the proposition to be made, voting to occur, then editting for NOMIC, since at that point it will have been typed.
Also, would we want a person to type NOMIC on a nay vote since they can put a person over 200 points thus winning?

meustrus: DrOctopus has a point; although in the spirit of the game people shouldn't be editing their posts anyway, perhaps add a clause that the word Nomic cannot be added after the proposal has been made.

Good points all. Glad to have this debate period. Coming to a vote now:
303. Should a rule-change result in the proposing player winning the game, either by points (assuming the maximum points able to be gained), the game being unable to continue, or any other method, the proposing player must include the word "Nomic" in the post putting the rule-change up to a vote. Should the proposing player fail to do so, or if the post has been edited from its original state, his or her turn will end immediately and the rule-change will not be adopted. The game shall not be declared won until it is confirmed that this rule has been followed.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

It doesn't show immediately after you edit your post. You have to "re-enter" the topic to see it. (I'm not sure if a refresh is enough)
