Is it just me, or do these black mages in the 99 battles deal way more damage than any random enemy in a 99 battle ever should?

I think it's that we have no RS. I did all the events last night but it actually took a chunk out of me. I did 3-man parties up through dif75, and Gafgarion was a jerk (thankfully Clear Tranquil had a few charges ready). I switched to a super-party for Wiegraf, and even then it wasn't a walk in the park. Looking forward to gnashing my teeth against the bonus battles =)

I saw a lot of complaints at NeoGAF and reddit. It seems like the FFT banner might not have the correct drop rates and that the "huge drop rate bonus" plastered across the non-SSB uniques is a myth, and this is the reason there are so many off-banner relics being drawn.
Ultimate Belias doesn't look that nasty, but I'll have to bring a Boostga to compensate for a lack of synergy weapons. I'll probably give Yuna my White Staff and have her nuke with Holy and Alexander. Alexander is only rank 1, and I'll probably hone it once for this fight. Two casts would knock out half the HP of the adds. The Poison and Slow vulnerabilities mean I'll probably bring Locke and Edgar again, along with Flashing Blade Sephiroth. Doing all of that in the first two rounds should kill the adds no problemo. Shellga seems mandatory but Protectga seems skippable.
Yeah, they're really strong. Steiner was a niche-use character for me with his Spellblade/Knight combo, but he's been made pretty much irrelevant now that Agrias exists. Pretty Cecil can still backrow, so he'll have his uses, but he and Beatrix are probably going to become bench-warmers as well.
Ramza is just amazing, and even has one of the better default limit breaks out there. Ninja was a good idea because fitting in Shadowsteel was often awkward and is usually the reason I used Tyro for previous sap-vulnerable bosses.

Ability-wise, I'm liking these FFT characters. 5* supports are always welcome, and so are knights with protectga level white magic. And she's a spellblade to boot!

I had a hard time beating Wiegraf, but when I landed a Tyro Grimoire it wasn't so bad. I made sure to take Banishing Strike to get rid of that OP Regen on him.

Deltree, I summoned your RW during a daily dungeon. I am mildly bothered that you're using the Judgement Blade quote while Agrias is equipped with Hallowed Bolt.
Cecil, I'd wait to do more pulls on FFT until DeNA fixes it or we know it's just a shithole/not worth your time.

I feel like it would save a lot of time if, when you swap a character in, there was an option to tranfer all usable equipment from the character you're swapping out to the character you're swapping in.
It's called Unequip All -> Optimize ;V
The optimize feature is actually really nice now. While I normally tweak a few abilities for target conditions, it's very good at creating balanced parties.

Huh, I totally forgot that that existed. Probably because I never use optimize in any game ever. I should give it a try, I guess.
I'm sitting on 105 Stamina right now - hard to believe I got started with this only a few months ago.

tl;dr is that dena lowered the chance of getting character sbs and replaced it with a higher chance for off-banner items (like ff7 Turks Suit or ff8 Crescent Wish). basically, the already low chance to get what you want got halved without notice.
I wouldn't mind the low low rate if they did something like, idk, guarantee 1 SB item with each 11x Draw? That doesn't seem too unreasonable.
Heck it wouldn't even need to be an SB, maybe just 1 guaranteed 5* item.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I actually REALLY REALLY LIKE that change. It's so hard to get off-banner items because there's no way to roll on a generic banner. It's a really good change! You won't feel so completely fucking screwed if you don't get an item during its banner; it'll still be possible to get forever.

I do agree with this. I was rather bent out of shape when I missed out on Maduin's Horn for Terra, but now it's theoretically possible to land it on a draw.
Edit - Is it possible there's actually a -better- chance to get an SB item with all the possibilities thrown in now? Or is it more like -Super Low Chance for a 5*- and -then- they RNG to see what relic you get if you land the 5*?

I think they just made it so something like a third of the draws that originally would've been banner relics are now off-banner relics instead. But it's only been a couple days, so it's hard to tell.
What does annoy me is that Japan has just had globally better drop rates for everything for quite a while now.

Yeah, if the 11-pull was a 10-pull + 1 on-banner 5* relic, that would definitely be the best thing ever.

it's not an added chance for off-banner. if it was, i'd agree with lockez. it's a replacement, and it's fucking bullshit. i roll on specific banners because i want THOSE ITEMS.

That's pretty bum news. So based on this evaluation, when would be the time to attempt a draw for Tactics SB's?
