Rule of the Rose is my all time least favorite game. I kept trying to play for the story, but man, I just couldn't do it. Jen moves way too slow, can't take a hit, and has, like, a fork for a weapon. I see what the developers were trying to do with her, but it made the game such a chore to play.

My least favorite RPG is probably SO3, which broke my heart because I adore the Second Story. But the first, like, 31 hours are total filler. It's been a while since I've endured it, so I don't remember much. All I remember is that the story/characters didn't engage me. Wasn't about to play SO4.

Welcome to my fuckin prison, bitch!

Okay, jokes aside. I never played Chrono Trigger, be interesting to see if it holds up.

I hate TCG's, like a lot. Have never been able to get into them, they just annoy and frustrate me.

I did play several on a table before hearthstone. I played it until I got my Hearthsteed, then never touched it again.

If you didn't play chrono trigger until now you'll find a lot of flaws in it.
I mean, a lot.

But if you can adapt your mindset to the facts about when the game was made and the quality of the rpgs of that era, maybe you'll find a certain beauty within it.
That's pretty much the whole charm of CT for me. It was made with similar mechanics to other SNES RPGs, with the same limitations and whatnot, yet it still managed to work with him and create a compelling, timeless experience that I still have fun playing to this day.

Like yeah, obviously it's flawed compared to RPGs today if you wanna talk streamline and whatnot, but for what it is, it's an amazing game.

They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

Yeah, I am super picky and have no SNES nostalgia whatsoever, but I felt like CT lived up to its reputation in most respects. It's a really solidly done RPG.
I realize I sound like I don't like most RPGs - there is a few I love such as Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones or Epic Battle Fantasy 4. However, I keep finding/remembering games in that genre that disappoint/-ed me - today, I'll talk about Sonny 2.

The game plays much like the first part, in that you click a target and then choose what action to take. Basically, the correct action each time is for your assist to do the healing and for yourself to use whatever deals the most damage. The kicker here is that there's an entire skill branch full of totally useless skills - they become relevant once in each bonus boss fight, where they're the only way to win. This is probably the worst way you can possibly implement those skills, however, the game was at least polite enough to let you respec to get them.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4.
Fuckin love those games!

Dead Horde was a disappointment, zombie game that hooked me in because the atmosphere reminded me of Diablo II.

So it already had a way too high bar for it, mostly it was just repetitive after a very short period of time.
Unreal Tournament 2007. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT! Especially as a huge fan of the original UT, and I liked 2003 / 2004 as well, but 2007 was just... what was that?! The storyline was bad...in fact, it was like they wanted to merge having it be Unreal and Unreal Tournament at the same time, which made it awkward and lame. They are SEPARATE, I wanted a game focusing on the tournament, not...warfare. Save that for a new Unreal game (on that note, Unreal 2 disappointed me too...nothing can be the original game with Prisoner 849). The graphics were beautiful, no doubt. I also liked the minor customization of your character, but of course the campaign mode you play some dude I didn't particularly care for. I thought in UT you could be a guy or a girl with many models to choose from, in which you fight to win the championship? WHAT happened to that? I couldn't even finish the game. And the worst part...INTERNET DRM. I...do not...like having to sign in to play a solo player game. I like to be able to play, whether my Internet is on or off, since it isn't an MMO. Which brings me to why I can't appreciate Diablo III as much as I should; brilliant graphics, voice acting, cool classes, fun gameplay, story full of twists...but RUBBERBANDING when I'm playing alone is just irritating, and it has almost gotten me killed more than once >.<

Reason I stopped playing Assassins Creed II was because of uPlay.

I had the pirate version originally because I don't trust triple A devs to be truthful, ofcourse they could have provided a demo and saved us both, but no, no one does demos anymore, which irritates the fucking crap out of me.

So I go and buy it legit and it expects me to boot uPlay.

Nope, I just won't play it, I'll play Thief II or Strangers Wrath that run on steam without a hitch just fine, thanks! (Both are much better games, anyway. So is dishonored)

Fucking Ubisoft urrrgghhh!

I know I'm probably a hypocrite here since steam is the same, but the thing is I BOUGHT IT ON STEAM, I EXPECT I CAN PLAY IT ON STEAM WITHOUT HAVING TO DOWNLOAD ANOTHER FUCKING INTERNET DRM!

God, damn it.

Had refunds been around then I'd have refunded it no exceptions.

I don't want that uPlay shit on my computer, much like I don't want Windows Live Arcade or fucking Origin. If I BUY SOMETHING ON STEAM, LET ME PLAY IT ON STEAM.

I'll refund any fucking game that asks, no-- DEMANDS that I download their bullshit spyware to play their game.
Street Fighter, generally because it never changes much.

Except sometimes.

I have a pretty extreme hatred for Hydlide NES. Just thinking about that game again is raising my blood pressure. Asked my mother to buy it for me because it had a knight fighting a dragon on the box, so it had to be awesome--right? No, it's actually the worst game ever.

That's strange, because the Sonny series is to me one of the more balanced RPG systems out there. The use of buffs and the turn system was pretty innovative and interesting, not that I'm that well-versed in RPGs to compare it to. It just seemed logical to me.
I'd figure I would contribute to this some more, one game that I have that I can't for the life of me get into is Monster Hunter 3 ultimate on wii u. Spent a good 20 bucks to get a lot out of it, and I just can't get into it. I want to hunt monsters! Not do these boring village missions.

On the other hand, a game I absolutely despise is Uncharted 1 on ps3 I haven't even started 2 or 3 because of this piece of crap. And God of War Ascension, I love me some hack n slash games its kinda of a guilty pleasure genre for me. But this game just throws all basic common knowledge of hack n slash games and throws it out the window with some of the most sluggish combat mechanics ever. Its bad when the first game in the series (the only other GoW game I'v played) is way better than the newest.

I never really "got" fighting games. I always thought they were annoying and bad (including Super Smash Brothers). I'm not good at them, so it's pretty much me being biased.

I'm not a huge fan of newer Maddens. I felt the series reached a pretty good balance between simple and complex back in 2007 or so.

While the other skills are relatively balanced towards each other, there's no thought about which buffs to apply as you just fire up everything that's not active at the moment and combat is little more than a dps race. Furthermore, you don't have enough party members for proper optimization and strategizing. The system is only notable in that you select your target before your action.

I do have some fond memories of Mortal Combat 1 and 2 for Sega. The animations were pretty neat...and dem fatalities yo.
I like Smash Bros because you don't have to memorize 15 different button combinations and contort your fingers into pretzels to make moves. In Smash you are actually fighting the opponent(s) instead of the controls.

I think you're just bad at them! Although that's nothing to be really ashamed of.

Most of the difficulty that people have with fighting games is that they're extremely technical, and many people who have been playing fighting games have been playing them for decades, which equals out to a newcomer going online to mess around and getting their ass beat in dozens of consecutive matches.

Fighting games take a lot of time to get good at them, which can be a wall to overcome.
