MY SCREENSHOT IS BIGGER THAN YOURS!

Even though I look like a pretentious douchebag for referencing my own work,
Maps are work as anything else, gotta disagree with McGee on this one.
However not a huge fan of Blinds recent mapping as I said more than once, I prefer OMcifer one, mainly for being more clear, less confusing and less blindingly colorful. Better for a 2D RPG I´d say.
Even so, both feel quite wierd to me on the fact that I don´t know how rocks could form like that :P (Maybe it is a floating island...)
Liberty: looking awesome as always, nice to see you are still around :)

Well in my book maps don't count as "work" to reference (you need to make GAMES for that) so you just come off as confused in my mind, Blind.
Okay, I didn't mean for this comment o' mine to sound as dick as it came out.
To clarify: a writer's "work" is not his sentences, an artist's work is not his pallete, a composer's work is not his notes. In my design philosophy, maps make up a game. A game is a creator's "work"; a map is a part of it, worthless on its own. I always think BM has worried too much about making pretty maps (which he is VERY VERY GOOD AT) and not enough about gameplay.
That said, yes I know I know this is the screenshot thread i.e. essentially the pretty maps thread.

Well, you're absofuckinglutely right, there.
Yeah er, I believe that has been established for quite some time now.
I wanna see some slick screenshots. Feld, yours was pretty awesome!
As for omcifers, it's pretty good. There's a clear path for the player to walk through. The only thing that looks odd is the middle mountain part looks very square and doesn't seem to fit in at all. If there was more structure to it, it could work out.
But those SD3 cliffs are incredibly hard to work with, and the way that chipset is compiled doesn't help the situation.

Boss fight!

...this is chronologically before the previous screen.

Hooray. Thanks to an totally awesome idea from Karsuman surrounding status effects, you can now throw daggers that actually poison bosses. I wish more games let you use status effects (albeit dumbed-down versions) on bosses. :< Also, I am escaping from the boss fight to show that you can. It takes 4x as long, but....

This may be the first time we disagree, but I dig Blind's maps a lot. Reminds me of Secret of Mana, bursting with lively colors and stuff. Although, I think his mapping style would probably have to change in rpgmakerVX (rm2k3 is more suited for purely aesthetic maps)
That's a LIE, Natook. I'm only using side-view because the ATB script doesn't come with all of the side-view CBS's features, and I hate turn-based side-view systems.
Holy hyphen.

Thanks a lot guys. I work hard on making the RTP look good so it's great to see positive comments about it instead of ye olde 'Haha RTPiz4n00bs'. ^.^
I'll just keep working on RealmS and making it full of prettyfullness.

For those (few?) of you who have played Mage Duel and wondered what kinds of characters I like to play in my own game (besides the required answer of ALL KINDS for play-testing purposes) well, consider this the first installment in a series of eight or so screenshots entitled This is how I roll:

These are taken after the first story battle of Act II, by the way, I have given myself no special advantages (that I'm aware of anyway, wierd stuff happens during playtesting/debugging) which is why I have not saved up enough to buy any Act II hats or accessories yet- I spent ~5000 gold on the Act II kit I have equipped.

Craze, those look cool, but you need to stop it from printing NAME more than once because that is just dumb.
