Chloe, you want to know if people know anything. Marrend has listened to rumors. Could you be more specific?

Helium, you see the information Lynx did.

Everybody else, is there anything in particular you'd like to do? It seems like everything sort of fizzled out.

In the Pirate's Guild, you can purchase merchandise not available elsewhere, weapons not available elsewhere, and you can take missions of a less legal bent. Also, you can get information you wouldn't normally be able to get from the normal game...for a price. Beware; that price isn't necessarily money.

(I haven't been posting much on purpose, pianotm, because I thought you were busy with Winterruption. I didn't want to get on your nerves by insisting you focus on this game while you were busy with other work. Seems I was trying to be too polite for my own good.)

Meanwhile, I was thinking that since some of us aren't participating in Winterruption (Ozzy, for instance), not everyone is going to want simply ignore this thread.

Yes! In your immediate view is an old, grizzled star captain, a woman in her mid thirties wearing a bomber jacket and with a nasty scar under her right eye, and a man with shaky hands nervously looking at any sound, who otherwise looks perfectly ordinary.

There are three people, not two. The star captain, the woman, and the nervous man.

Chloe: He jumps as you address him. "Who-who are you? Are you one of them? Are you one of them!?" He takes a moment to observe you and says, "No, you can't be one of them. They're--they know. They're watching me and they know! I know they know! They know I know they know! I just can't figure out how they found out. They want me to sit and wonder what they're going to do. You see, that's how they are. That's how they begin to punish you. They let you sit and wonder. They're almost cruel like that!"

What would be any guild without a bar?

Chloe: The Star Captain says, "Yaargh, I can tell you about the time I had some stuffed shirt from Earth as a passenger I was escorting across Star Fall, but I doubt ye'd be interested in that."

Helium: He looks over to you and says, "I don't know how much I can tell you. Be the look of you, you're a mercenary. I used to be one too. I'll tell you a thing about Wah'ri; when they hit, they don't linger. They hit and they run, and they ain't particular about their targets. In my day, a Wah'ri hit was rare, and only happened in the unexplored regions. These days, you're hearing about it happening two and three times a day across Star Fall, and you hear about them coming back to finish the job. These Wah'ri raids, they only go after civilian transports. Merchants, passenger ships, escorts, and the like. There's nary a word about a hit on military ships, and that ain't like the Wah'ri. They'll hit anything. This has been going for over a year now, and not one report of a Wah'ri hit on a military ship. They can't have been lucky for that long. I reckon this is some new Wah'ri tribe that's afraid of our army. Who knows what they think? Damned birds could be thinking anything."
