"Babylon."
Cyrus laid in his bed, a wet rag pressed against his forehead.The night sky seemed to be devoid of stars tonight. A dark ocean threatening to swallow up the world. He pressed the rag against his forehead harder, attempting to obliterate the pain with sheer might. This headache had appeared from nowhere a week ago, and had only gotten worse. None of his worthless doctors had a solution. He had, on occasion, considered flinging himself from his window. However, abdication had never been an alluring choice..
As his pains and vision had gotten worse, only one thing had seemed to ease his torment. Whenever he thought of Babylon, the pain would erode. It was a silly thing. He wasn't sure why he had begun to think of it in the first place. In just the way that a burglar breaks into someone's house, the idea had smashed its way into his mind. But, although thinking of Babylon had brought him much strange relief, he felt it wise to not think of it further. Surely, he was just indulging in some kind of inner madness?
But it did sound so nice...


The room was devoid of light, but the shadow on the wall was grinning.
