[MAFIA] RMN: WHEN THEY CRY (TEA PARTY)

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Hmm. I'm convinced that either Pianotm or Demonlord is scum.
First of all, as YM said, every time one of them says something about what happened to them overnight, the other is like "Oh yeah me too." Demonlord strikes me as much more likely to be lying, of the two, since he's doing that with minor details like flavor and text formatting, whereas Pianotm only did it with the very broad statement of "I was attacked."
Also, as Ozzy said, the idea that there are two doctors and they both protected the two people who were attacked is a bit much.
However, I want to add something to that idea. I think the idea that there are two doctors, by itself, is incredibly unlikely. In fact, the way I see it, the only way this is true is if there's a town doctor and a mafia doctor. So even if they're both telling the truth, I still think one of them is scum.
At this point I'm going to #lynch demonlord5000

I'm starting to get a working theory on what's going on. I could be completely off base though. Before I go off on a big post that could end up being pointless, I need to ask: Has there ever been a game where scum has had multiple powers, but can only choose one per night phase?
If not, then my theory is completely wrong and not worth posting.
Yes, there's been plenty of such games, because where scum has multiple powers, that should be balanced by only letting them use one per night.

You've got it backward, my man. I was the one offering details. Demonlord was being vague. He only said he was attacked after I said I hid in a closet and Yellow expressed concern that he didn't know how he survived, yet knew he dove for a stairwell.
Alright, this theory could work then. Since were dealing with a witch, I'm thinking of the possibility of only one scum, and that she can choose between one power per night. I'm also going to assume if its not a straight out nightkill, then it is a power that is designed to turn us against each other like right now.
I'm thinking one such power notifies two players of the same type that they were attacked, but does not actually have the power to kill. To help confirm my own role, I will say my role cannot be used by itself. The person with the same role as me (I have no outside communication with them either) has to target the same person as me for it to work.
We know there are two guns, two defenders, and possibly a bunch of other paired roles that this could work on.
This is of course all theoretical, but better to post it while I'm alive for reference in case I get killed.

Yeah that's what I meant. You were just like "Yeah I was also attacked." But he was like "Yeah my message also included a room in my house and furniture that I dodged behind," or "Yeah my message also was written in Helvetica 12 point." If he's telling the truth then I think it's clear that you are too. But if you're telling the truth then he could easily still be full of shit.
Demon, it seems unlikely that there's only one scum in a game with twelve. It made sense in the last game I ran where a new person was scum each day, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I will point out that psy went out of his way in the first post of the game to specify:
So I think that's probably actual moderator-provided proof that there aren't two vigilante gunners?
author=psy_wombats
PSA: Two things to keep in mind as day 1 starts: first, the flavor text is just that, flavor text. If anyone starts trying to solve the witch's epitaph or something dumb I will hurt them.
So I think that's probably actual moderator-provided proof that there aren't two vigilante gunners?

So I think that's probably actual moderator-provided proof that there aren't two vigilante gunners?
We actually don't know what that was in reference to. There was A LOT of flavor examination going on before he said that. Enough that I was actually going to say something similar except I got sidetracked bickering with YM and ESBY.
Anyway, don't think that's moderation confirmation. A suggestion, but not proof. I think it's probable that there's only one gun, but if Demon and I are both telling the truth then we were both attacked and both NKs were somehow prevented.
It certainly seems like that was probably one vigilante/paranoid gun owner and one NK which means there's probably only one gun, unless they only have one use and somebody's sitting on the other.
You are probably right. I just thought the circumstances behind the notifications strange, but I could be completely wrong.
I think I've said enough outside the random theory for now to where people can speculate if I'm telling the truth or not. All I can really do for now is give my own thoughts, and I'll claim if it looks like I'm going to die regardless. I've pretty much said all I can to defend myself outside of that.

I guess the two guns thing could be interpreted so many different possible ways as to be meaningless anyway. They could represent two vigilantes, or a vigilante and a paranoid gun owner, or a vigilante and the only member of the mafia, or a vigilante and one of the three members of the mafia, or single use items, or probably some other scenarios I haven't thought of.
Since we know Gourd was a gunner and we know there's at least one mafia, we're probably not gonna learn anything else from that particular flavor text any time soon, even if psy was lying and it really is incorporated somehow.

People reading too much in the flavour is something i dislike, demonlord. You managed to tell quite a lot without being active.
Talking about roles, the game is quite small to have more than one kp. Unless it's filled with protectives.
This list is not so bad, tho. Your logic for lockeZ could be applied on you and make you look towny. But you're right that some wolves are likely to arrive later.
4-6 nulls is quite a lot in a game with 11 players.
Do you actually call Esby scum? I get it from the logic of the list, but it would be better to see the actual word. Not being useful is not always a scum indicator. Throwaway vote on the other hand might be.
Also, you're describing a nai move from Ozzy as something what made you reconsider the read.

Read through some posts and I'll go ahead and post my reads. Cap and tunger I'm still unsure.
Piano: Town for the aforementioned reasons. (big town lean)
Lockez: Town. He's been voting in a way to get people to talk, and was in the gourd vote early. I don't think scum would have rushed in as quickly. (I'd say medium town lean) because it can be hard to tell with lockez sometimes.
Jeroen: (Slight town read). He's been aggressive and helpful enough to where I'm thinking hes more town than scum.
Muffle: Neutral. I've never seen muffle play before. I'd say (small town lean) for now because seems to be helpful overall.
Cave: I'll say (neutral) for now because he's hard to read. He seems tamer than other games, but maybe I'm gauging it too much off the last one too much too.
Ozzy: I'm unsure. I had thought he was scum earlier, but then he left the gourd vote. Could have simply left to throw us off though. I'm going for (neutral) for now but I'll still be watching him.
Yellow: I'm leaning on slightly scum.
Esby: Hasn't contributed anything, and what was that random piano vote? I really don't know here but he hasn't been useful. Going to put him down here for now.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

I don't think demonlord or piano are lying about being attacked, I just don't think it's algnment-indicative.
I feel better about demonlord after his responses. That theory about the witch's powers doesn't feel like something scum would come up with to me. Unless it's like, Pazuzu Cave.

My new list/reads:
Village
piano -Piano's engaging in discussion, pursuing everyone to explain and reason and he's isn't making fast conclusion. Also, he's always reconsidering things, while being fairly consistent and not random.
muffle -I trust Cave on this one. I still think he tried to pocket her early on. I'm usually skipping lines in her comments as they tend to be fairly fluffy. But I noticed that she's pointing out some obvious things but they feel pure to me.
There are lines in this text, which are showing her pureness! I don't she would go for the first part as a wolf, even as an unexperienced one. The second part is not bad, but it's very bland. Agreeing with others is the part I dislike. Luckily, they're people I also townlean.
jeroen -I liked his activity in the second part of d1. His vote was sub-optimal, tho and his comments today are weaker so far with one exceptions. I agree with the stuff about gourd voters in this comment. I would like to see some townreads to move him in town proper.
LockeZ -He's creating his own opinions rather than following opinions of other people. I find him voting muffle for messing up the vote a typical non-apologetic move from town Locke. The reason he;s not higher is that all of this is not true anymore. In this comment. He's jumping on a wagon other people started and thinking about it he did it with gourd too. Still he was the original voter. Plus this post contains one major contradiction (just read 1st and last line).
Nulls
Tungerman -there's not much to base the read on. Tunger's definetely one of the quiter player and his posts are not exactly decisive. On the other hand I don't read any ill-content in them as at least one of them is making outher people look better.
Pancakes
Demonlord -I don't like that he was distracting us from the game today and reading too much in flavour. His vote on gourd was suboptimal too. I'll probably make another separate comment on him. There's a reason I don't want to vote him or go full scum on him just yet.
Ozzy -Ozzy's presence is weak and most of it feels forced. I wouldn't give him any goodie points for unvoting gourd either. He's all over the place too. The reason he's not even lower is because it looks like he's trying to solve the game. He's not trying to dodge questions either.
Yellow Magic -YM started being defensive early without much of a reason (me and piano posting lists). It's like he's actively against solving the game. I'm sure he's not with Cave Dog, tho.
Cave Dog - Both piano and Cave Dog are still alive. With piano being such a strong townread of mine I gotta suspect him. But I liked his EOD. I'm still not over his early defense of muffle, which felt as scummy pocketing to me.
ESBY -He's just going against crowd without thinking about it too much. Basically his attitude and the throwaway vote. He haven't posted any quality content yet. It's not like he's trying to solve the game.
#vote ESBY
I'll go over my oranges and Locke later on and make more detailed reads on them.

Alright, that's all I wanted to know. I know one of the rules is "Do not talk about the game outside of the topic", which is why I thought they couldn't. Honestly, it doesn't seem like we're getting anywhere.
We found out Gourd was a village and trying to find anyone suspicious, we have a couple people but mostly because they're saying weird things. But that's where we went wrong with Gourd. The only other people that we can suspect are those who aren't really responding much. We could try and lynch them for it since they're not being very helpful, but I don't know that's just kind of pushing it. A last resort kind of thing.
Sol and piano have said pretty much all I want to say.

He could get inspired. And there might be some crazy stuff in this game. But you must admit that it's turning us away from actually solving the game.
Personally I like that he made a list today. I don't like content of that list so much again.
I'm currently unsure how to read him. He's quite active but the content is not there with the quality. And there's not that pure feel I got from Muffle.
