[MAFIA] TREACHEROUS - GAME OVER

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

I'll take that as a "You're right, that's true."
It sounds to me like you really want to vote for piano!

I might have if he hadn't claimed.
I'd personally much rather kill demon than you at this point, but it turns out that somebody, and I'm not naming any names, forced my hand by starting a suicidal duel.

i was gonna die n1 anyway none of you can tell me you wouldn't have done the same

Emily, you mentioned the option of nolynching over lynching Cave but did so in a non-committal way. Can you state your opinion on the matter?
I guess it matters if you think Cave_Dog worthy of a lynch, of course. I just wanted to bring up that I think not lynching is a better choice than normal right now, since the vote is constrained by the duel.

Yes, I suppose it can be argued that nolynching makes more sense than it normally does on D1, but that's not really an answer to my question.
Out of the options
1: Lynch Cave
2: Nolynch
which do you prefer?

In all fairness, yeah, I probably would have.
Fair point. I was too focused on how the detectives could help us that I didn't consider scum detective could just go silent and make the role as useless as the rest.
If I had to choose, right now I would prefer to lynch Cave_Dog. I don't really have a reason to believe he is town (or scum really), and his ability is spent.
If you had to pick between me being scum or town, which would you say you lean towards

Alright, thank you. I agree, also because nolynching might set the game on a course for MYLO over LYLO which I'd rather avoid.
I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on demon.

I felt a little odd about demon finding my cancel suspicious. I mean, I thought it was obvious to me. These were some of the earliest posts of day 1. I had no idea what Cave thought he was doing. I didn't even take it seriously at first. When I realized it was serious, I voted Cave. Then when I gave it some thought, I felt my vote was premature. I thought, no way scum would do this as a first action on day 1, so I canceled. I figured, I'd rather there be a no lynch than to put my vote on potential. Then, I went to bed, woke up, saw everyone's take, and then remembered, "Oh! This is Cave!" and put my vote back. I didn't initially think demon was suspicious, but I guess that could be because it was me and not someone else. I was more confused than suspicious. Why would voting Cave, rereading the rules, and then canceling be suspicious? Thinking about it more, that's a weird take, but I'm not sure exactly how scummy it is.
I don't think piano's cancel was suspicious, it was just pointless. I also don't see any point arguing over demonlord when we're multiple kills away from being able to actually vote on him even if we wanted to.
@Jeroen: if one of the detectives is doing obvious scum stuff ghosting the other, the other detective just pops back into the thread and says "hey detective blue/dray is scum, everybody roleclaim"
and while piano is toast, at least a town bodysnatcher can probably salvage the detective masonry.

In regards to Demon, the only thing I've found suspicious is how he ignored the idea of detective possibly being scum. It's a very weird thing to not consider.
Piano's explanation as to why he cancelled his vote feels a little iffy I refuse to believe that he of all people wouldn't notice that it was Cave that challenged him. If Piano's roleclaim is true, I'd rather we keep him alive until nighttime so that he and the other hopefully not scum detective can at least get some info on someone's aligment.
If I go by that logic I would want to lynch Cave, mostly just because the detective role is more valuable, if not in hands of scum.
On the other hand, Piano might've fakeclaimed in an attempt to see if the real detective Grey made a slip-up. If Piano is scum and not detective Grey, he might've seen Cave's challenge as a big problem and in order to assure survival he could've claimed Det. Grey for two reasons:
1) Assure his survival for one more day and lynching a townie (Cave in this case)
2) Fish for reactions from the actual Det. Grey so that scum can potentially get that problem out of their way. (If they don't have one of the Det. roles in their power.)
There's also the possibility that he really is Det. Grey, but as scum and his claiming his role so early seems like a desperation move to get heat off of him, because why would town want to lynch the one with the Detective Role? I mean, the lynch options are either Cave or Piano. Cave with his bizarre randomness, or the more collected Piano, yes, Piano did have 3 votes on him already, but usually I wouldn't see this as landing in any other way than on a Cave lynch, and I'm sure Piano knows that. To me it looks like he just role-claimed to make sure without a doubt that the vote goes on Cave or a potential no-lynch. I mean, of course he doesn't want to get lynched, who does? But that early roleclaim still iffs me.
I'm gonna vote #lynch_Piano and we'll see where we go from there.
Also, I'm leaning more towards Cave being town than him being scum as of right now. I'm not really certain on Demonlord just yet.

Problem with this theory: I've barely said a word since claiming.
Just remember; one lynched detective == one useless living detective.
Not only that, if I were fakeclaiming, it would be pretty stupid for the real grey detective to counterclaim, especially since the second it's night phase, the grey detective would be in his night chat going, "Dude, that ain't me." Smart town would lynch Cave today and me tomorrow.
I'd like to note I did consider the possibility of scum detective/scum cave in my third scenario. I just didn't account for scum detective/town cave combination.
I think ozzys point of a possible fake claim is worth considering though, in that it's a role that pretty much guarantees pianos survival. There is no way to dis-prove this though, and makes it pretty much impossible to lynch piano in case it is true. The detectives serve us better by staying hidden and finding additional scum than nailing piano right away.

After playing a game as scum with piano where I spent hours fruitlessly begging him to fakeclaim, I don't think he's fakeclaiming.
I'm going to have everyone who is just talking about game theory/mechanics and not reads assassinated
