WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?

Posts

Randomly popped in Threads of Fate last night. The case was sitting around in my room for a while now and I only recently remembered that the PS3 can play PS1 discs. Go me.

The game is as criminally short as I remember it being. Which is a shame because it's bursting with wit and charm. More than I can say for a lot of recent games these days. They probably could have solved that issue pretty easily by at least doubling the length of some of the dungeons and including a bit more character exposition to pad it out.

It feels like the game was someone's random pet project that Square just happened to go 'What the hell, why not? Go ahead and make it!' to the director.

And Mint is so much more interesting than Rue.
I finished Silent Hill 1 on PSX just the other day. It's pretty amazing how little it has actually aged during all this time. I used to play it as a kid, but never got past the school-part because I was too scared. It was still pretty intense but I'm really glad I re-bought it.

Now I'm thinking of starting SMT: Lucifer's Call now, never played it too far before.

Just played the Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies demo on my brand spanking new 3DS XL! It was alright, really - everything still felt pretty Ace Attorney, fortunately enough. I'm disappointed in how sluggish the UI is (e.g. it really shouldn't take a second to bring up the Court Record), but maybe this is a hardware limitation more than anything. End of the day, it's new Ace Attorney so I can't complain. <3
I played through Thomas Was Alone yesterday. A lovely little puzzle game made all the lovelier by a narrator, telling the epic story of a bunch of rectangles and their struggles in an unforgiving world.

So I tried playing Kid Icarus: Uprising for the first time a week or two ago. I think I'll trade that in on Link Between Worlds in November. People were right about the painful control scheme.

October is going to be a good month for gaming. I recently bought Knytt Underground, which is fantastic so far, and probably one of the best looking games I've ever played. In two or three days I'll have picked up my copy of The Wind Waker HD, and then around the middle of the month I'll be getting Pokemon X. So I'm happy to say that I'll be pretty stocked up with stuff to play.

To top it all off, I'm trying to beat Super Ghouls n' Ghosts in celebration of Halloween. SO that should be immensely painful.

It's sad that I can't think of any appropriate pun based responses when there are like 700+ names I could use
After finishing with Diablo 3 on Inferno, I played a bit of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Over-the-top awesomeness, fun times. The game does a terrible job of explaining things though.

Also got Disgaea D2. I know what I will be playing for the next bazillion hours. Love me some Disgaea.

On the side, I finally took down the final boss of Etrian Odyssey 4, after he kicked my ass two times. Felt really good, but the feeling didn't last, the post-game immediately put me in my place, face down in the dirt. Don't know if I will try to get through the post-game or instead start with SMT: Soul Hackers for a different experience.

EDIT: Disgaea games have one of the best and most unique soundtracks, just love it. Etrian Odyssey tunes are awesome too!

I finally beat VVVVVV.

So I'm feeling pretty damn good about that.
Got back into Fire Emblem in-between playing Tales of Xillia. Currently playing through Fire Emblem Gaiden, which is actually pretty sweet! It's different for a Fire Emblem game, but most sequels seemed to be doing strange things back then.
Dark Souls °^°
Last week I defeated Artorias..... he is really the hardest boss I ever fought in my gamer lifetime. >:(
"Rest in Peace"

Oh and I'm playin Divine Divinity again. :D
I love this game

Trying my best to make my way through Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, but it's just too. damn. repetitive. Even for a Persona game.
Working at Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (3DS) in my spare time, as well as Dungeons of Dredmor (PC), Digimon World Dusk (DS), and La Mulana (PC). And the folders of rom hacks, freeware games, and games from here that just keeps growing.
I am trying to play through Super Mario RPG on my phone but guh, it is very boring. I remember playing this as a teen back in the day and not being terribly impressed. I am starting to remember why. The gameplay is very lackluster.

I need a new RPG to play on my phone while I poop. Any suggestions? (I recently finished FFIV, FFV, FFVI, DQIII, DQIV and CT, so don't suggest those).

EDIT:
oh yeah, I got a ways into Earthbound before growing tired of it.
Just started SMT: Persona 2: Innocent Sin on the PS1..it's fantastic. Lmao, if only I could go back in time when PS1 games were still being sold in stores, and buy the epic games that I love now, rather than just using an emulator.

Also working on Digimon World 3(for a Digimon game, this one's "damn" long o-O), Final Fantasy XII, and Pokemon Diamond(which I beat the E4 already, but going through the post-game areas, and changed nearly my full team with new pokemon~)!

I finished Windwaker HD a while ago, so I've been playing Hero Mode on a New Game+ for a bit now. It's a good challenge, considering regular WW is probably the easiest Zelda game ever made.

I've also been trying to play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Holy christ that game is boring.
Currently playing Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland and experimenting with the wonders of alchemy (haven't played the first two). If I enjoy this game enough I'll look into getting the other two and play them in order.

Good to know about windwaker hd since I'm considering getting it sometime next month. I prefer a good challenge so I'm definitely starting with hero mode after reading that.
