That was a beautiful ramble. Especially about the part of getting cheap mexican food.

I still struggle to continue FFXV at all. I'm MUCH more enjoying Ace Attorney 6.

Deckiller that was painful to read - your opinions are bad and you should feel bad for wasting not only my time, but also your own time writing out that monster.

See the reason I know you're trolling is because nobody in their right mind would say that my last point is a bad opinion :P I mean, why force people to watch an anime and movie to understand an RPG's storyline...

Tell us how you really feel.

FF15 was $35 on Amazon yesterday, so I impulse bought it. I am morbidly curious as to how the "Story patch" is going to work. I stopped a few hours in and sent it back (rental), so hopefully I don't miss much!

it's a weird brawler rpg where you sacrifice children to summon espers to fight a war.
Sacrificing children? Sign me up!

but actually. if you want to summon shiva or w/e, you gotta kill off your kids. it's a bizarre game.

hexa: akibastrip sounds hilarious but also way too hetero for me

FF Type-0 is a game where every single NPC's dialogue changes in your (very large) hub after every story mission, including your own party which you can run around and find lounging around. Taking certain characters to certain places and talking to everybody will gradually unravel the actual plots of the game.

If you just bum rush Type-0, it's a weird brawler rpg where you sacrifice children to summon espers to fight a war. If you take your time with it, you'll be uncovering information about the characters in the intro, learning about and exposing rebels planted within your headquarters, spying on the woman who selected you to be children of war, and liberating cities from enemy control.

It has an incredibly non-traditional method of storytelling. If you want to learn more, you'll have to find the stories as you progress the main war narrative. I found it very rewarding to do so. The supposedly simple characters you slam into enemy soldiers are actually quite interesting.

Craze I love FFType 0 and thank you for saying everything I liked about it ;v;)b

I'm playing Trillion God of Destruction and I don't know how to feel about it. Normally games like these are my jam. I mean come on, these are nessy baits:

Boss Rush in essence? Check. To explain, there is a boss that has a trillion HP and with forms that changes its strategy. It's called God of Destruction for a reason.

Send off your waifus, sister, or dog...or husbando...one at a time to experience a horrible death and emotionally destroy you? Check.

Permadeath and the game actually reflecting it? Check.

Simulation game with training and exploration elements ala princess maker? So much yes!

Protecting your territory to be eaten by Trillion? That is so fucking awesome. Depending on how much damage you inflict on it, the less of your territory gets eaten. I love stuff like that!

Almost Turn based battle system. More like Roguelike maybe. That's OK! Better than usual Compile Heart stuff!

And I don't know if it's the writing or that the game feels like it's getting old. But come on man, repeating the game like what, 8~13 TIMES MAYBE? to unlock everything is just way too much.

Also the final form of Trillion is fucking stupid. The movement is already kind of clunky when you can accidentally waste a turn because you aligned the camera angle in a way and pressed the wrong directional button. But 3rd Form Trillion has like

1. A wind skill that pushes you back PER TURN. And they run through the boundary, where you lose if they reach, very fast. So you better spam those moves that move forward so your passive won't be cancelled off (Final Sprint IIRC).
2. A shield that doesn't allow you to get near to her, AT ALL.
3. Poison fields everywhere.
4. Goddamn ONE SHOT skill.

The first time I beat here is through Levia + Final Skill attack before I train a new Overlord and thank god it made me won. The 2nd time was easy.

Also so many RNG and conditions for specific events it's maddening. It also did a dangan ronpa that you collect tokens and use that to get gifts. And to get the true ending, you need to make ALL affections for the overlords at 100% It's just so much mendouksai!

There's also this stupid passive I accidentally added since I wasn't paying 100% full attention to the skills I wanted to learn. It's called Savage Warrior. Fucking useless, don't ever get it. You can't deactivate it after. It's either all your attacks miss or all your attacks critical. And most of the time you will miss :1

I identify with Steiner.

Trillion looks interesting but in a weird PSP era way. Not sure what to think.

I'm playing Lost Dimension on my PS3 lately! Just recently got it, and it's quite interesting!

I'd maybe given it a few passing glances in the past, but this time it just really caught my eye and I got it. Maybe it was the DanganRonpa fan in me.

I'm not very far in the game, but I must say the game makes good use of the few tools in it's toolbox. It feels like it has more longevity than it really does. It's difficult to explain.

The game basically has three parts to it.

Part 1: Combat. You have 11 characters with slightly different battle styles, ranges, and abilities, but only 6 of them can battle at once. Positioning is VERY MUCH the key to combat, and second to that is ability synergy. You have a lot of options on how you want your characters to grow. There's not a lot of enemy variety, but instead there are threat-types that you can see at a glance and plan accordingly. Enemy level plays a huge part in game difficulty. Bosses that almost obliterated you will do scratch damage in 5 levels.

Part 2: Party chat. After each mission, you can chat up your party. The first two people you talk to will gain trust with you, and the more trust you have, the more conversations you can unlock, and maybe even some character quests.

Part 3: Trying to find the traitor. As you progress in the game, traitors will appear in your midst - and you have to not only find out who the traitor is - but influence your team into also making the right choice when the time calls to root one out. You can do this in various ways - giving them your opinion, having certain characters get more of a vote, and getting teammates to trust or distrust each other.

First off, the game's not easy. It's quite easy to overexert yourself and get severely punished. I've died a few times already. Thankfully, old missions always remain available to train in - and they have items and lore scattered about to find. It always pays to look around every cranny. The fun thing about the game is that, each playthrough, the traitors are chosen randomly. I myself just lost my favourite character...

It's not going to win any awards - especially compared to games with a simmilar gameplay premise - but it's unique, and tried to do things differently - which is exactly the sort of game I like to have in my hand.

I'm still messing around with Endless Legend as an aside, but, it's a fairly interesting fantasy-based 4X. It's no Master of Magic where you research spells instead of technology (not to mention the slight nod to Magic: The Gathering), but I'm liking it so far.

I'm not sure how this speaks about me, but, I'm spending a lot of time in Dynasty Warriors 8 - Complete Edition. I'm in the middle of Shu's Story Mode, and that's the only one I haven't gone through at least once.

*Edit: Darigaaz, Lu Bu's Story Mode was crazy-hilarious. I was close to getting over 1000 kills on each map I did. I think I was short of that number on one map out of the ten (or so) in his campaign.

Hexatona, after reading that I looked it up. I'll definitely have to play at some point -- it seems to strike all my buttons except for the srpg-ish battles. I think I can stomach them since everything else reminds me of my own old projects, though.

Marrend, EL is great! I think I prefer Civ 6, but EL is a very good 4X.

I've been playing the Berseria demo. 11 days. Give it to me =|

Also nearing the end of ff9? I'm 20 hours in, currently finding potions for Cid.
i like dynasty warrior 3 the most, best voice acting in a game ever

ff9 spoiler
If I remember correctly, the potions are on (alice the shopkeep), (cinna), and (somehwere in the artists house)
Okay after deciding on some games to drop for the time being my new current play list is

FFXV and Blooborne

FFXV I'm actually loving so far, I love the Final Fantasy series, and while I admit this game has its flaws, I'm still enjoying this game quite a bit. I actually like the combat, magic and driving in this game lol... So far I feel like the only one on here that loves this game....

Bloodborne, made it to the blood starved beast and put it on my back burner for a little bit, came back to it, and still can't beat it lol. But I'm gonna keep trying!

I'm liking Resident evil 7 so far. My playthrough is 40 minutes atm, it's definitely a return to form from what I've seen. Saying that though, avoid the spoiler free reviews, they're actually quite spoilery =/

DRAGON QUEST 8
For the 3ds!
Lot's of improved shit; no random encounters (which leads to a lot of other fun stuff) and instead they're on-screen. New side-quests, polished alchemy system, and you can actually see the benchmarks for learning new abilities when you put skill points into something!

Kinda confused as I'm about 20 hours into the game and still haven't had the two new party members join me. I can see why with Red, she appears later in the game as well as during the pickham thing, but what about Morrie? When does he decide to join you? After you beat the monstrous arena!? That would be ridiculous; that's most definitely something you can only complete by the endgame with a good amount of luck and the right monsters and by then, what's the point!?
I have a strong feeling one of them joins you after or before
Jessica gets possessed by the scepter
but who knows.

Also wondering if you'll have to switch out your party of four, or if you have six members out at a time. Don't know which would be better, honestly.

Other than that, I'm loving it!

They both join at some point after the disc one final boss. I think you can get Red before that spoiler, but yeah, Morrie is by beating at least most (if not all of) the arena.

Are you talking about YHVH's universe? Haven't gone down the Neutral Anarchy route yet, so maybe you go there anyway. I don't know.

Either way, I totally agree with you. That last dungeon was hell. I mean, at least it gave me 20 levels, but still. Oof.
