SHOW ME YOUR SCREENSHOTS - FALL EDITION
Posts

Though not technically done, (actually, I have to start over because I screwed up the horse animation order -.-) but yeah, still it'll look like this in the end.
The trees blend in quite a lot with the wall in the background, in which the trunks of the trees are barely visible. Perhaps lighten up the trunks a little so they're more visible? Other than that, it's great. I love the atmosphere being conveyed :).
The contrast is a big step up, but the trunks are not good. They need to be wider or more natural looking or something, as right now they look like wooden poles with foliage on top. I'm also not crazy about the ground tile, although the leaves and the wall and the panorama are all very nicely presented.
That is actually how they are in Symphony of the Night. I think it's fine, since the scene is coming from a different perspective (the trees are farther away).
You could edit it but you just need to finish the game. Go go Nightblade.

Im doing all this incidental stuff (like the whole gylphs thing) while Im waiting for my brother to complete a single piece of portrait art. From there, I can work out what Im going to use for my new message box (or decide to use Rm2k3s default portrait system.)

After a little chipset editing, I managed to fix some elevation problems at the tops of the houses in my little underground town.
Keep in mind the overlay is terrible and very very temporary. It's there right now to remind me where intended light sources are so I don't map over one.
I like the setting tardis. The door in the screen without the overlay looks a little out of place, but I take it that the one with the overlay is a newer version of the map. Edit: Oh duh, it's titled beforeandafter.

The code is more beautiful than the game at the moment, though I'm not going to take a leaf out of Craze's book and take a screenshot of it. :P

Don't worry... It's only a dream...
edit: Why is no one posting here? tardis that looks nice, although the fog is a bit heavy.
GoG... idk what to say.
meh I'll post my screenie again

Notice that the main char.'s worldmap charset is a ff5 charset.
@Azn - Loving the lighting and the charsets. Are they custom?

Whenever I post something in a screenshot thread I scare people. I guess I should add more fancy lighting effects.
@Manifesto: I like that worldmap a lot, and I like the message box in the second screen. What's the small dot-type thing on the right-half of the world map lines?
The lighting is custom ;) but the charsets aren't, they're a recoloring of Terranigma charsets.

@GameOver - your screenshot is shit awesome. I always wondered if coding Browser RPGs were hard...
@Azn- Haha thanks! It's my first serious project so I can't add awesome effects... yet. (And it explains the use of RTP) The dot thing is supposed to be a barrier, but I can't seem to find the big keyhole barriers from SMB3.
