A MONTAGE OF THOUGHTS ABOUT SEVERAL GAMES
Posts
So then you're metaphor says X is a explosive blockbuster while VIII is not? I won't write anything until I understand this cryptic cryptic metaphor.
I've lost the will to argue about Final Fantasy games. I think X's gameplay overshadows anything lacking in the story. VIII's story would be enjoying if the game had better gameplay.
I was going to write that in a long essay, but then I deleted it all and realized that those two sentences sufficed. A reply I guess is the joys of VIII's gameplay, and then the counter is that I just didn't feel that way about it, and then someone will call someone else a cock and we all cry.
Cock.

Legend of Legaia. An RPG. Battle system had you inputting commands via combos (arrows). Not a very inspired story, to be sure, but my brother and I nearly crapped our pants during the 'wall' scene at the start. Lots of side quests (Legend of Legaia II had more!) Strangely addicting.

The sequel was called Legaia II: Duel Saga, and I guess it was overlooked, because the series never got a trilogy game (at least not on this side of the ocean). It also had bad voice acting. I thought the girl (Noa?) was saying cereal or Ontario when she died, for example.
I also thought Final Fantasy IX was ripping the original Legaia off, as both involve Mist quite heavily in their storylines.

I remember when I first played LoL (lol, that's funny). It was at my friends house and I very clearly remember screaming out "COOL!!" during the first battle (I thought the combo thing and unarmed combat was cool, obviously). I didn't really like any of the characters, maybe Vahn the most, but he still wasn't that interesting. The game was pretty cool at the time but, sadly, I never completed it.

I really liked Legend of Legaia, especially the difficulty. The fact that almost every boss was legitimately super hard was awesome. So many times I saw the Game Over screen and adjusted my strat accordingly.
