"WHAT TO DO IF YOUR GAME SUBMISSION IS DENIED."

Lay down and cry.
When you're finished with that, look at the denial notice. There should be links provided to give you assistance with whatever problem areas you are having.

Submit your game to Game Jolt. They have no one checking your game pages to my knowledge. https://gamejolt.com/

>Moved this to User Feedback as that's where most people seem to check first.

Should we include both screenshot threads?
?.?
In the OP? there's a link there already, unless you mean to this area n which case no.

What I mean is, there's a link to Screenshot Survival 20XX in the OP, but not-so-much the New Developer Mapping Help Thread. My question was if both threads should be linked in the OP rather than just the one.
Fixed. I thought it was already there, but looks like I missed it.
My recent game submission was rejected on the basis that "We require at least 1-2 paragraphs based on the plot of a game." Could you describe the minimum restrictions for me regarding description of the plot?

It's not that I can't think of things to write about the plot. I can talk people's ears off about the plot of the game. The trouble is that, at least in its early stages while my release mostly consists of the intro, there are a lot of details which I wanted to deliberately obscure, because I'm starting the game off with a decoy protagonist, and would prefer the player not to know immediately that the character they're starting off with is not the main character for most of the game.

Once I have more content released, I was planning to change the game description anyway. But I was hoping to set up the game before then so I could get feedback earlier.

Thanks for your help.

^I had the same thing happen and was curious. As it was an episodic "demo" and was going to add more as the episodes went on.

Then I see games like Dolly or some other recent non-event games that make me scratch my head as to how they got accepted. I can see higher quality stuff being held to higher quality standards, I suppose.

I've also been wondering if non-English or at least developers whose first language isn't English have an easier time getting accepted?
Well, for one your whole description was about the making of the game and had nothing to do with the actual plot of the game itself. Something about the setting, the characters... that kind of thing counts.

Talking about your ideas and thoughts and troubles when making the game? Better as a blog post than a summary of the game itself.

At the very least, if the game is more than 10 minutes long and not a puzzle game (or the like) I require at least a paragraph about the game plot.

The amount I've written above is more than enough to count, length-wise, for an example. If you can't find something to say about your game story that will draw people in, then that's definitely an issue.

Quite honestly, sometimes it's like squeezing milk from rocks getting people to put more information in their posts about the game itself and it's annoying to keep pushing people to put something -ANYTHING- down about their game when they're determined not to 'spoil'.

If there's an issue with spoiling then perhaps people need to re-evaluate their writing ability and whether or not they can pull off a mystery at all. :/

This isn't at you, Desertopa, but the amount of times I've seen someone post something like "Mary woke up. It was dark. I can't explain more because it will spoil the game!" and then asdglahsdgha;dj;ajdfjadlfja;ldjf for the next 500 characters or a bunch of images and videos (taking up room with the text required to embed them)...

Here, this might be useful: http://rpgmaker.net/articles/1270/

General ideas:
- Explain the setting
- Talk about the world before the game begins (thus setting up a preview of what the heroes life was like before shit hit the fan)
- Introduce the character/s
- Explain some mystical -thing- that exists and how it affects the world/why people are after it/how it relates to the plot, even if in very general terms
- History! Delve into it.

Even Mario has a plot!
One day Mario and his brother, Luigi, receive a letter from the pretty Princess Peach asking them to come over and have some cake. Not one to turn down cake, they make their way to the palace only to find on their arrival that Princess and cake are nowhere to be found. The ever-loyal Toad explains that Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser, taken to his castle! Will Mario and Luigi manage to save Peach from his dastardly clutches?

3-5 decent-lengthed sentences = a paragraph. Surely people can find that much to say about the plot of their game. :/

They probably just get referred over to me this thread, get a hopefully-helpful suggestion, then get accepted!

If that first part was at me, Lib then I have to say I had the basic plot and not just talking about making the game.

@Marrend- You're a godsend to many people and you're awesome. ^.^

I'm not trying to be sour or anything, I've just noticed that recently some game pages seem well under par and actually just started thinking that "Oh, I know this user and I know they can do better" which is fine, I just wanted to bring it up.
Nothing against you, Libby. I know you have a hard job with all that and it can't be easy to sift through all the junk. I just felt I had to say something.
Since I'm still pretty attached to the idea of not revealing the identity of the protagonist for the time being, I'll take it as a challenge to establish the setting and plot properly while keeping that information under the table. I've resubmitted the game page in what I think should be a more suitable form, hopefully this version is acceptable.
Oh, no, the first part was at Desertopa (what you have now is great, btw! >.<)b ). As for some getting through a bit easier, it might be a case of judging by the group as a whole at that time. If you have any game names, send them my way and I'll double-check them.

Sorry for inconvenience for poor description about this game.
I have a permission by original creator of Teuqontu and this is the proof.

Lo-Mlatu, you may consider a visit this thread for assistance in regards to the game description. Please copy the text of the description in that thread, as permissions to view an as-of-yet accepted gamepage is exceptionally limited.
Thank you very much. I thought I should post gamepage too but only thing I was asked when submitted subject has denied was to post the proof of permission by original creator of that game. I think requested claim would be satisfied by previous post but I'm worrying if there are any flaws.
Next time PM to me, as the note said. XD

To send a PM, click on my name and then hit the Send user a Message link. >.<)b
Thank you for description, and i didn't recognize what does PM means at that time.
Sorry for inconvenience of my pending game currently.

I wanted to ask if I can revive a game with a Beta version Demo? I can have that done by Months end.
